Blue Snowball iCE Condenser Microphone

I wanted a no-nonsense microphone for Teams meetings which wouldn't require having the mic 6 inches away from my face. This fit the bill, and does that job very well. In fact, I have it sitting on the left-most part of my desk and it still sounds like I'm speaking right into it very clearly. Impressive. What's not so great is the cardioid pickup pattern, which is supposed to pick up sounds in front of the mic while blocking sounds behind. Unfortunately, it does pick up sounds behind so it loses a star for that. 2 other minor annoyances, which combined lose another star: 1) it uses mini-USB instead of USB-C, which means I need a specific cable just for this microphone. 2) it has a red LED on top of it which is constantly on while plugged in. This LED is simply "I'm plugged in and have power". It doesn't change color for muting or anything. It's just a useless, annoyingly bright light. I covered it with electrical tape so it's a non-issue, but I was annoyed I even had to do that. All that being said, I am keeping this mic simply because the sound quality, range, and price are excellent. I sit in a quiet room 99% of the time, so the poor cardioid pattern hardly affects me anyways. I do recommend this mic at the $30-$39 price range, but it's not perfect and doesn't deserve 5 stars.
