Reliable, No-Fuss HDMI Cable That Just Works
By Judith Young on Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2025
After dealing with random signal drops on my old cable, I bought this Amazon Basics HDMI cable, and I’m glad I did. From the moment I plugged it in, everything just worked — no flickering, no lag, and no frustration. I’m using it to connect my TV to a PS5, and the picture quality is consistently sharp with vibrant colors and smooth motion, even when switching between 4K streaming and gaming. The 6ft length is perfect — not too short, not messy — and the cable itself feels sturdy without being stiff. I also appreciate that it’s not overpriced. It’s just a solid, dependable cable that does exactly what it’s supposed to. Sometimes simple and reliable is all you need, and this checks every box.

Cable length matters!
By General Snivy on Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2025
I bought these cables to hook them up from my PlayStation 5 to my 4K video capture device on my PC. However, after I hooking everything up, I check the screen resolution and frame rate on my PS5's system settings and it said that it only supported 1080p 60 Hz. I bought the 2-pack 6 foot cables thinking that it would be fine to play and capture gameplay from the console in 4K 60 frames per second in HDR. That was not the case here. The cables themselves worked fine when it came to displaying an image on my TV, but it wasn't in the resolution or frame rate that I wanted. From what I was able to figure out, the cable length DOES matter! If you're planning on buying these cables to capture 4K 60 FPS gameplay, buy a 3 foot cable at maximum length. Anything longer and you won't be able to pass through and or capture gameplay at anything higher than 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. I went ahead and filed a return for these items and I will buy a new set of cables from elsewhere. TL;DR: If you're looking to play and capture gameplay from a PlayStation 5 at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, buy a 3 foot cable. Anything longer and you won't get the results you're looking for.
