Otter Box Defenders are serious protection for your phone. My phone was dropped from my motorcycle while doing 70 MPH across Kansas. The phone was recovered, the Otter Box Defender was destroyed. But the phone, found face down on the centerline, not even a scratch. This is an old phone, old Otter Box design, but they engineer their cases to protect the phone, NOT the Otter Box.
