Dramatic Improvement
By Kevin W. on Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2022
First off. I want to say that I have never written a review on Amazon before. But. The amazing improvement that this screen material produces just compelled me to write this. The projectors I own are an Optoma UHD65 purchased at end of 2017 and an Optoma UHD38 purchased in October of 2021. Material. Elite Cinegray 5D designer series. This is a DIY project but it is not a “simple” one. I reached out to a good friend who is a professional cabinet maker to create the frame. Finish it and it took three of us to properly stretch and staple the material. So consider this if you want to try it rather than buying Elites aluminum frame. The dimensions are 120” X 66” for 135” diagonal. Poplar wood used for its lite weight, flexibility and strength. The first projector image is off my old DaLite 1.1 gain screen and Roku screen saver. The next two are on my flat white wall (with texturing). The next. The green Zaku shows just how bright/ reflective the 1.5 gain is. It’s easy to note it’s upper white armor Pauldron is actually reflecting white light up across the ceiling. The last two show just how rich and vibrant the colors are as well as how much deeper the blacks are. For those with DLP mirror based projectors . This is a game changer. The weakness of DLP has always been contrast levels. Wow! This screen just brings images alive. I’m beyond impressed. You will NOT be disappointed wether you purchase the screen material yourself or buy a pre made aluminum kit. I’d give this product SIX stars if it would allow me ! Kevin W.

I wasted $200 - looks terrible and came with a hole in it...

Wasted 200$ for this. It isn't a cloth, not that it matters. It's really plasticy. It does NOT DO WELL in ambient light at all. I got the 5d cinegrey and it washed out the image worse than my white drywall does with any light on. Just go ahead and grab yourself some blackout cloth from carls, it is here on Amazon as well. It's like 79$ for DOUBLE the material. Head over to avs forums if you want to paint it for ambient light rejection. Anyway, as i said. Terrible, just awful stuff.
