Great Solution for SecretLabs Magnus Pro Desks
By latenightshopper on Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2024
This is a reputable brand with good surge protection, and the design is rugged and built for much harsher commercial environments than a home gaming desk. However, due to the good spacing between plugs which allows for larger bricks, as well as the metal casing and compact height & depth, this was a perfect solution for the back panel of a SecretLabs Magnus Pro desk. I am confident that my electronics are well protected and that the heat will effectively dissipate. Note: This fits the smaller size desk but would also fit the larger desk very well. In the smaller desk, it is a little longer than the space between openings, so it will hang over an opening a bit. It was still the best option among many I reviewed and will allow you to plug in the most devices with large transformers.

Not what I need
By G Naoma R on Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2025
Ugh. It wasn’t clear enough that this has a specialized plug. I need a relatively wide-spaced socket, preferably vertical, long, single-row, surge protector, that can safely be used within 15ft of the home’s electrical service panel. Apparently that’s too much to ask. This at least has wide-spaced sockets. They’re not vertical, but they would have sufficed. The version of this with the normal plug barely has over a 1000-joule rating. For that much money? I can get one for under $40 that has a higher joule rating and is equally “sort of adequate.” And the 15’ cord might be great for some, but the closest outlet is 6-inches from where I need the surge protector installed. 15-feet is overkill. All their other surge protectors are small, super compact, with sockets practically on top of each other, so that I might be able to use 2-3 outlets on an 8 outlet box. This thing might be great, if you have the correct outlet available. Definitely not going to work for me. I have 20amp sockets, on 20amp breakers, but none of them have that rotated prong inlet.
