Incredible sound for the money
By CLEM BROWN on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2016
Bought this to go with our older 32 inch Samsung Smart TV which was lacking in sound with its tiny speakers. With this soundbar, everything changed and it has opened up a whole new dimension in our viewing experience. Easy to set up with the enclosed optical cable and the wired subwoofer. It has a lot of features including a sort of equalizer which allows you to adjust the individual ranges for the best sound for your listening environment. The woofer output is also easily adjusted with the remote to ensure the balance you desire. After a few minutes of playing with the adjustments, we found a setting that is perfect for our room. But the best part is what it adds to the viewing experience. Things we never heard before now come through with impact and clarity. The stereo separation is also very noticeable and adds to the experience. And it is loud if you want it to be. The only downside is that this system is so good that you hear the variation in some show's soundtracks, especially older shows. One thing of note - apparently optical connections do not have a positive 'locking' feature and can easily be pulled out. A tiny piece of duct tape on each connection solved this problem. Update - after using this soundbar for several weeks I've discovered that when streaming shows with 5.1 audio there are many annoying 'dropouts' in the sound. After some trial-and-error, I discovered that where possible, choosing the type of audio (English vs. English 5.1) from the streaming service makes a difference. Choose plain English (in normal stereo, not 5.1) and the dropouts disappear. Where it is not possible to choose the audio type (some streaming services don't let you chose) just use an AUX cable in addition to the supplied optical cable and choose AUX from the input selection on the soundbar. You will get great sound this way also but without the annoying dropouts. I'm NOT changing my ratings for this soundbar - it is still far superior to the sound from the TV alone and is a great value for the price. It may just be the way our system is set up but I have heard similar complaints from others regarding dropouts when using 2.1 soundbars with 5.1 audio and the methods I described will eliminate them if you are having similar problems.

Samsung support is terrible and un-responsive.
By Lucy on Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2016
This sounder has sound that is marginally better than my TV a 40" 4K samsung model UN40ku6300. I noted that when connected by fiber optic cable, the volume cannot be controlled from my COX cable remote. I tried the "Samsung Connect" feature and have been able to use the cable remote to control on/off and volume. I have noted that the speech controls such as "Voice" are no longer controlled by the TV but can be set on the sound bar. It arrived missing a minor optional part that the instructions said that it should have been included. My reason for the 1 star rating is the terrible performance of Samsung support. I have made several calls and sent an email to as I was instructed with a copy of the Amazon invoice, serial number, date of purchase and my personal information, and the missing part has not been sent, nor has Samsung sent a reply. I tried an online chat and they said my request (Described in their ticket number 5115944460) Was in the BOS department BOS=BILL OF SALE and that was a week ago. Samsung sent me an email today asking for my review and when I sent "Send" it would not accept my review. I am about to return this sound bar.
