Sony DVPSR210P DVD Player

It arrived in a timely manner after ordering, looked to be in decent condition and was properly packaged (courtesy of Amazon, of course). Plugs in and powers up easily, but... Set to French. If you're an English-speaking person reading this review, you can probably guess that the chances are I don't speak French. Nor is this product advertised in French that I'm aware of so I'm not sure how a product was advertised in English and then sold set to French. Minor, minor, MINOR nitpick on this. Powered it up, switched the language over, popped a DVD in after dad said it didn't work. First DVD it spent about five minutes trying to load before kicking it out and saying it could not read the disk. Okay, I figure it's an old disk and pop in a disk for a movie I never watched. Five minutes of loading and "could not read." If a product is supposed to be "Certified Refurbished" then it should be capable of performing the function it is meant to be capable of performing. You know, the one it was BUILT to perform. It wasn't just built to turn on. The whole purpose of a DVD PLAYER is for it to PLAY DVDs. If you sell me a DVD PLAYER. I expect it to at MINIMUM be capable of PLAYING DVDs. Not just power on in the wrong language and run hot while barely responding to button press commands and refusing to function further than opening and closing the DVD port. You're pathetic and disgusting for selling a product that couldn't run and you MUST HAVE KNOWN could not run.
