Not so great...this time

This is my second set of UV5RTP radios. The first set I have no issue with, great little radios and with modded antennas and BL5 battery packs they work very well in the hills and valleys of central KY. THIS set on the other hand, well let's just start with opening the two SEALED boxes: Radio one missing the handheld mic, one of the parts trays was missing and some of the smaller stuff was simply thrown in the box. Radio two everything is as it should be all parts accounted for and properly packed. Mind you, I know what the unboxing should look like as I myself already have a set of these radios as well as a few friends and fellow hunters. On to programming. After following the suggestion of doing a factory reset and going through the menu options to align everything with my other set, I began trying to program the radios. Neither radio will transmit except on certain channels in the mid 140 range. Radio one (the problem child) will not go to wide band transmit, stays stuck on narrow band and defaults back to narrow band everytime. I have tried several times but this thing refuses. (Menu-5-Menu-Wide-Menu-Exit) Even tried the whole reset thing twice but it still refuses. Am having a HAM buddy take a look and see if it is a general programming issues on B-techs part, I don't have the software or patience to trouble shoot beyond what I have done. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this set.
