Great product!

We have not purchased a new tv in at least ten years. The options available are numerous so I ultimately narrowed it down to the approximate size we wanted, prime eligible, and highest rated. This has been a great purchase! First off, the price is competitive to what I could find locally. We added the protection plan because it was affordable. I skimmed over some of the features built into this tv... Like I said, we haven't bought one in so long, I had no idea what we would like besides something functional. The picture quality is good. We use an antenna and the built in tuner, it works just as well as our Sony with the parabolic roof antenna. There aren't too many options so setting it to our preferences was easy. The sound is good, but it's taken several tweaks to adjust it to our preference. We love that Fire tv and Netflix, which we have subscriptions to, are built in to the tv. They work great! A few buttons pressed and we're watching our favorite shows. It's actually easier than the separate fire box we have on our other tv. It seems to pick up Wi-Fi easily from the other end of the house. We've had no problems with buffering or weak signal. I would definitely recommend this for the quality and features. It was a gift for my husband, he's wanted a tv for the bedroom for years, but it's been kinda nice for me as well.

Avoid Vizio!!!

This TV worked really well up until about a month before the warranty was up. It started with the picture fading to dark and eventually turned into just white dots followed by vertical lines taking over the picture. (Audio is okay.) We have contacted Vizio customer service four times -- by email, by chat, and by phone. Each time they claim not to have gotten our pictures of the problem that we have emailed to them (per their request, with proper identification, etc.), although they do see one record that we originally contacted them before the warranty was up. We send them photos, get no response, contact them, send the photos again, etc. I searched online and have found numerous complaints about unhelpful customer service. The customer service folks are nice -- but it seems like either they have no organization for claims OR this is a strategy for not actually having to repair or replace a TV. Although the TV was cheap and worked well for 11 months, it's just not worth it in the long run. Avoid Vizio products -- unless you like to gamble when the odds of winning are pretty bad.
