AWESOME theming, and region-free so it will work on your US Wii / Wii U console!

I already had a handful of basic black/white Wiimotes from the original Wii days, but one day I decided to just try the new Mario-themed Wiimote. It was so awesome looking & feeling that I had to get Luigi to match! Then Peach! And obviously at this point, I'm too far into it to not want to collect them all. All of them are themed so perfectly, and this one is no different. They each have a primary color to match the respective character, as well as secondary and tertiary colors which all jive perfectly with the characters they represent. Toad's color scheme: White: Front, rubber sleeve, wrist strap, minus, plus, home buttons Red: D-Pad, A, 1, & 2 buttons, wrist strap clamps Blue: Back Yellow: B button Sadly, Toad is not available in the US. But fortunately, all these Wii Remotes are region free! So yes, you absolutely *can* use the Japanese version on a US console. The physical remotes are no different between regions, only the box and instructions. And yes, these newer, awesomer remotes include the Wii Motion Plus accessory built-in, and it can be used on the original Wii console as well as the Wii U. So as you may gather, these basically have 100% compatibility with whatever you want to use them for! Two non-rechargeable AA Panasonic batteries are included to get you started. So just pop those in, and push the small red sync button on the back of the remote where the battery compartment is, as well as the sync button on the front of your Wii/Wii U. One other great thing, is unlike the older Wiimotes, the sync button can be pressed through the case and rubber sleeve, so you *don't* need to remove the sleeve or battery cover to sync the remote. You will, however, need to remove them to insert or replace the batteries. The bottom line is every single one of these character-themed Wii remotes are incredible, and I would highly recommend them over the plain 'ol boring normal remotes. You won't regret getting one (or all) of them!

Huge disappointment and waste of money

I bought this controller and 2 other like it for my son's birthday gift since we got him the Wii U. At first they seemed to work well, but after no time at all they started malfunctioning. At first we thought something was wrong with our console because it kept powering down in the middle of games, but we eventually realized it was the controllers. It wasn't until we switched to our old controllers that came with our Wii that we found out these controllers were the problem. It was so bad that we couldn't even play on the Wii U at all with these character controllers. I would not suggest purchasing from here. Maybe try GameStop or Wal-Mart to get some of the character controllers that will actually work.
