Great Headphones, Couple small nitpicks/problems
By Toine Aguilar on Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2014
If wired headphones are your preference to wireless ones, this is the way to go. I love these and had the sound quality of the Astro A50 to compare them to. I noticed very minimal difference, if any. After buying the A50's I realized I liked wired more than wireless for charging reasons. So you may be in the same boat as me. I dislike forgetting to charge my headphones and getting stuck with a USB cord to my ear. The companion app seems like it doesn't really make a difference, but I do think it gave me an software update. The cord is very thin, and is broken into two pieces, so its easy to store, and isn't in the way while playing. I also like it has the options to hear yourself through your headset, which is a feature I always liked. I was told the mic was clear, and if the sound of my voice I hear in my headset, is the same for others, it sounds nice. The ear covers are on ear, but do not cover them. That was Ok because it is really soft foam in the ear covers and shaped to them after a while, almost forming an over ear cover. Now for a couple nitpicks/ possible future problem: The mic feels like it is somewhat loose, and am wondering if in the future will this be a problem. (maybe breaking off. or stop working, cause cord malfunctions) Another thing is that my ears did feel a little pain one out of my 4 test days. I just readjusted them and don't remember any more discomfort. Also there is no option to play sound through your TV and headset at the same time. This is a common problem for headsets on PS4 when not using the optical input. My last complaint is that the earphone is able to be plugged up via an ear jack, but the cord is really short. I cannot see it reaching from my head to my pant pocket, it would be near my chest area/pocket in a coat though. That's all I have so far. I may update if something crazy happens, that would make the rating less. Feel free to ask questions.

Update: Breaks after awhile
By S. D. Greer on Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2015
Update #3: These bad boys split down the middle. They still work, but good luck keeping them on your head. I've made a temporary splint with a headband and some superglue to hold them together until I can order new headphones (not these). Between the extreme discomfort I went through for a very long time, and the fact they broke after about 17 months, I'm deducting 3 stars. From the reviews I've seen, this item can break even faster than that, I may have gotten lucky. I'm accustomed to things I own actually lasting, for example, I've had the same keyboard and mouse for probably close to 7 or 8 years (not a particularly hardcore gamer). I've attached a picture of the snap. Excuse the the glue, futile attempt to fix before I had the bright idea to use a headband (headband splint not pictured). Original review: So, for the price point, it's not bad. The sound quality is amazing, and the cable is really long. I was initially worried the USB cable wouldn't reach to where I park my butt on the couch, and that I couldn't get the same sound quality or be able to use the in-line controls, but it reaches just fine. Pros: -The price point. Hands down. This is the only reason I purchased this over the wireless version or competitors Some complaints: -The microphone: Why the high holy heck does it not include in the instructions that you have to pull the boom mic down until you hear it click? The microphone is mute until you do, and my friends and I spent a good 10 minutes troubleshooting (looking into system settings, unplugging and replugging, downloading and installing the headset companion app, re-reading the instructions). When we finally used Google, we found the problem. They need to include this explicitly in the instructions -It's a bit tight. It doesn't bother me (I'm female with a smaller head) but I could see it being downright painful for others -There's insufficient padding for the band. Depending on how I put it on my head, it can be really unpleasant. I plan to rectify this by making my own padding of some fashion. I may come back and update this review if it gets worse/better. (for example, if it breaks, as I've seen it do in other reviews) UPDATE: So, I don't know if it's just the headphones spiting me for the review, or just.. I don't know, but the tightness *seems* to have gotten worse. I am attempting the widening technique used by another reviewer where you take a stack of DVDs, and put the headphones on it longways, to stretch. Not deducting any stars though, because again, holy cow, the sound quality is STILL amazing, and the price. The price is so good. Update #2: Putting these on a stack of DVDs resolved my tightness problem. To anyone dealing with that who want to keep it, I highly suggest this technique. However, the plastic is fragile as indicated in other reviews, so be delicate and gentle when doing this.
