One of the best backpacks you can buy for your photo, video equipment !!!
By KENFL74 on Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2017
I did NOT get a free backpack from Lowepro to write this review! I am trying to help you guys get the best backpack possible! Read this even if you are not a professional photographer/videographer. POS: 1- Very durable material. I drop this on the ground as I move through the photo shoots. It is always face down and on grass, dust, wet and sandy surfaces. It can take a beating !!! 2- Enough space for a pro! I carry a 70-200, 24-70, flash, Mark IV 5D with a battery grip, extra batteries, business cards, iPad Pro, memory card carriers, charger, filters, tripod and rain cover for the camera in this bag. 3- Very comfortable fit. Very supportive lower back. I sweat less than any other backpack on my back. Fits perfect to my body structure. Fitting may differ with everyone and I understand that. I am a 200 lbs, 5'7" and more of a torso guy. I have many other brands of backpacks Northface, Patagonia and this is by far the least sweating one. 4- Cleans so easily. The material outside is like ballistic nylon/canvas thick and durable. I first wipe it out with water and a clean cloth. I wait for it to dry and see if that took care of the dirt on it. If not then I use a mild soap to scrub out the dirt and then wipe it with a damp cloth to get the excessive soap. It looks like new each time after I clean it! 5- The handles! I think if I have to pick what one best feature of this bag is, I would pick the handles! If you are a pro you know what I am talking about. The handles are so strategically designed and placed, I never had any problem on field moving my backpack. It is always facedown and top is unzipped but still covered. If they had one handle, it would be a disaster for me and I would drop equipment out of the bag when moving it. I grab two handles and move the bag easily without damaging/dropping any of my equipment while the cover is still on an unzipped. This gives me such a quick access to my equipment also. 6- Very protective! You can organize sections between your lenses and camera and flash and chargers. None of touches each other so no scratching or rubbing of any equipment. The backpack is like shell type material on the top that actually protects my camera from most impacts! Enough cushion on the sides to protect my lenses. Never dropped it yet with equipment in it so not sure how much it would protect my equipment from a drop. But it can take beating of car door hits, not too high drops when picking it up etc. Good protection for sure! CONS: 1- The only con I have is the price and that is not even a problem if you shop on certain times of the year. I got this bag for $97.68 from Amazon. It was a Black Friday deal. I bought on Black Friday deal and it was back ordered. I snatched the price and waited for backpack to be in stock again to ship. That was it. Otherwise it sells for $185, a bit on the pricey side. If you are pro or have the equipment I listed up in the CONS, this bag is a plenty of a bag. Not as big as it's bigger brother 450 and I like that actually. It is small enough to fit perfectly to my back and still carries a ton of equipment. Let me know if you have any questions!

Low level of comfort, not suited for packing layers, or carrying any substantial gear.
By Kevin on Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2017
I've been using this for a year or two now and it's an okay bag for the price. The straps aren't very supportive and it strains when I add a camera, lens, and tripod but for lightweight days it works well. It's a pain to configure because of the old school velcro dividers and when I try to include my gimbal all bets are off. Although I like the number of pockets they all seem just a little bit too small. The Side pockets are lucky to contain a battery (Nikon DSLR) but if you jam them in there you can get two. Though I have heard tearing noises when strapping this on I have yet to have any problems with the durability. My biggest issue is that when I'm lightly loaded it's still impossible to pack a layer or two for changing conditions. Probably best suited for a casual photographer that doesn't venture off the beaten path very often. Maybe the larger size would have been more accommodating but I don't think that would do it. The depth is just not there to have any flexibility on how you load it and limits it's usefulness. I have a number of Lowepro bags and have been very happy with them. This bag is my least favorite and least comfortable. In fact for most excursions I end up packing it inside of another Lowepro backpack that has great straps and accessibility. I would not hesitate to buy another Lowepro bag but I would want to make sure it had better straps with at least some padding and a more flexible interior with room for layers. PROS: - Stealthy - Looks - A lot of places to strap your gear on the outside (if it could handle the weight) - Hip straps help negate some of the discomfort of the straps when loaded CONS: - Interior dividers are outdated and the lining is stretching due to how often it needs to be reconfigured for different gear - Straps are not padded, comfortable, or strong enough to handle the weight - Pockets are too small - No room to pack extra layers no matter how much gear you bring - Terrible straps (I know I kind of said that but it needs repeating) - The iPad pocket is nice but it further decreases the interior space to the point of making it bulge out when closed. A little more: So below one of the awesome sellers on Amazon offered to help correct this. Unfortunately nothing from Amazon who I bought it from. I was even more disappointed that Lowepro didn't respond as well (not that I ever expected a response but Quiverr and Vincent set the bar too high :) I think lowepro's bags have just gone downhill and the quality is great for a casual, lightweight packer but I do not trust this bags harness for carrying my gear. I'll be looking at backpacks from Mindshift, F-stop, and maybe Thule but I think Lowepro is off my list from now on. I love my old bags (I think I have at least 7+ of their bags total and only one backpack that is not camera specific but it has such a great harness I thought I would give this a try) with high quality straps and harness systems but after this pack I'm ready to move on.
