Excellent Quality Case!
By Ben on Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2015
I want to write a review of this case this gives great detail and accurate descriptions of this case. I was leery of this case based on so many reviews that didn't accurately describe the case. Most people just vent about frustrations they have regarding things they should have known upfront when buying this case. I decided to buy the case and am grateful I did. Let me preface my review by pointing out that in all the negative reviews, people complain about 3 primary issues. 1) They complain about not being able to use 3rd party charging cables. In my opinion this isn't something that is defective in the case nor something to complain about. It's stated on the box. Know what you're buying before you buy it. This is how the case is designed, no need to bash it for it's intended purpose. 2) They complain about the headphone jack. Again, clearly stated on the packaging, the way LP intended for it to be. They provide a great tool for being able to use the headphones when desired. When not in use, the headphone jack is very secured; nothing is getting in that port. 3) There are complaints about the case failing the waterproofing test. I agree that it may be an inconvenience to go through the steps of doing the test, but if the case fails, LP clearly states that they will warranty the case before you subject your device to that risk. I would also question how well the reviewers followed the instructions on doing the test. Just a few observations I've made when reading all of the reviews on this case. Now, after purchasing the case and using for awhile, I have no negative things to say about the case. This is my first LP case, but I've seen and am familiar with their previous models. The LP case for the iPhone 6 is very slim. It really doesn't add much thickness to the already slim phone. Now it does add approximately a quarter of an inch to the width of the device and the length of the device, but that is to be expected with how the case fits together. Overall finish of the case is superb. The back of the case has a light matte texture to it that is smooth and comfortable. The sides and front surround is the smooth silicone rubber adding to the ability to grip the device. Let's talk screen. The screen protector on the LP case sits flush on the iPhone screen. As long as you take extra care to make sure the iPhone screen and the case screen is clear of dirt and dust before install, then you'll have an excellent looking display. (I had to check this 3 times before I got a perfectly clear display, again not case fault, just me paying attention to the details.) The portion of the case covering the home button/fingerprint reader is not like "saran wrap". The material covering it is more like that of a Zagg Invisible Shield. It's thicker, yet protects the button. I had no problem setting up the fingerprint reader. The coverings on the buttons and the ports are very usable considering the protection level of this case. I love the headphone port protection. With the plug that screws in attached to the case, I have no worries about losing this tiny piece. Easy to unscrew and screw back in. Even this plug has an O ring to seal out dirt and moisture. The charging port door is sealed well and locks into place securely. After reading other reviews about people tearing the rubber above this door, I've been very careful about opening and closing it. However I've figured out that unless you're just being careless and rough when opening the door, it's not anything to worry about. There's no reason to be rough or aggressive when opening the door, take your time and be easy with it. The Lock button on the side works flawlessly. Moderate pressure is all that is needed to work this button. Same thing can be said about the volume buttons. The toggle switch for the ringer switch is more difficult to use than the actual phone's, but having to manipulate the rubber/silicone that protects it is understandable. When installing the phone, make sure the inside of the toggle switch on the case, matches up the switch on the phone and you want have any problems. Camera and flash ports match up perfectly to the phone and I can't tell any difference in image quality. I can't speak for the waterproofing of this case. I never plan to submerse the case or device in any amount of water (why would anyone?!) But looking at the O ring and overall protection of how well the case is completely sealed, I'm confident if an accident happened, there would be adequate time to safely remove the device and not have any damage to the phone. Overall, I would summarize this case by saying it's high quality materials, it's comfortable to use, extremely well sealed and protection from the elements is excellent. Yes, the $80 price is too high, but you also have to understand all of the processes that go into getting a quality case into market. People need to be paid for their work and after seeing this case, I'm satisfied knowing that my money was spent on something good. So if you're considering this case, tired of looking at hundreds of cases, confused by all the silly reviews, hopefully now you'll see that this is the case you need to get. You won't be disappointed.

A Feeling of Security (that lasted only 4 months for 70 dollars!)
By kittykatty on Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2015
If this product where 10-20 dollars cheaper, it would be a five star product. The problem I have when I start dropping over 60 bucks on a phone case is I expect it to be perfect. Well it's not, nothing is, but it's very good. I did not get this case to intentionally submerge my phone in water, to scuba dive, or to go skiing. I got it to protect my phone from myself, my children, and my pets. I am happy to say that for that it is more than adequate. I have dropped my phone a number of times, a few of them quite violently, and it is just fine. It is also waterproof. Like I said I really am not putting it in the way of water but the other night I got a little loose and decided to use it in the tub. Sure enough my 18 month old zoomed by and slapped it right in the water and no damage done. I am really happy about having this level of water protection for the phone. In the past I've lost phones to the toilet, dog dishes, a glass of water, and even a puddle. Sometimes my fault but usually the kids. This phone is way too expensive to be doing that with. The case itself is very thin and lightweight and doesn't ruin the profile of the phone. With an added decal, it's actually really cute. I don't find that there is any appreciable sound quality difference. Everything lines up perfectly. The silence button works you just need to make sure it is on when you put it on the phone and then fiddle a bit with it. To my surprise even my 3rd party accessories ended up fitting. I have no issues with the quality of the charger door. The charger door and the headphone jack cover are harder to open than is ideal but that's to protect the phone so I'm behind it. The finger scan unfortunately is hit and miss now but a worthy sacrifice. So on to the reasons it isn't perfect. This is nitpicking because I'd recommend this case to anyone especially moms and I'd buy it again myself. But for the price the materials feel a bit cheap. The screen protector is basically made of what feels to be a very garden variety clear plastic bendy sheet. It is suspended some fraction of a millimeter above the actual phone screen and this causes problems. Despite its dustproof guarantee whenever I am charging it somehow pet hair must be attracted to the charger and zooms in through the charger door and slowly accumulates on the screen which necessitates cleaning every 2 weeks or so. It also seems like after all this poking and browsing I've done through this plastic sheet there is this oh so slight stretching which causes nearly imperceptible rainbow spots in the plastic. And I have only had it so long, I'm concerned how it will hold up. And yet seeing as water damage is not covered this expensive imperfect case is to me an invaluable sense of security. Do you know how luxuriously naughty it felt to use my iPhone in the tub? UPDATE: Some four months later, I've totally changed my mind about the case because now it is a broke down hunk of garbage. I don't live ruggedly, I am a homemaker so this phone case is not behind enemy lines or anything. But about 2 months in it started being incredibly annoying and over the past month has turned useless by breaking in multiple areas. The problems started because after a while the screen is ALWAYS marred by those rainbow halo markings. You can blow up the port and it fixes it for a second but by doing this you're also turning the case into a humid sauna because it's waterproof and that can't be good for the iPhone. And seriously it lasts for 2 minutes and you have to do it again anyhow. But it really turned ugly when suddenly it just started falling apart. In an effort to remove the moisture I introduced by trying to clear the circles on the screen and the animal hairs that sneak in the port I had to remove the case and clean with microfiber. Well, the port door broke right off. I replaced it but it never worked right again and eventually it fell off and I lost it. Then the earphone jack got wedged wrong in the hole and I can no longer screw it out so if I want to use the jack I have to remove the case which is a hassle and breaks it faster. And then the other end of the ear phone jack plug came out and snags on stuff. And then the thin sheet of plastic covering the finger sensor fell off leaving a hole and exposed iPhone. So it's the farthest thing from water proof ever now. I was still using it for at least drop protection but now the screen is so warped and scratched that I'll have to buy a new case. Had this been even 30-40 dollars I would have been okay with it. I would pay 10 bucks a month to protect my iPhone as well as it did for that long. But this was 70. For 70 I expect lasting materials and engineering. I will buy a different case next time because this one has made me very angry. I have not contacted the company about this, maybe they would do something about it. But I'm kind of inclined to move on.
