Worth the extra money!
By Bgwolff on Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2015
Great sound, comfort, and no more tangled cords! I had the earlier model Klipsch S4i for 3 years before they finally had to be replaced. Planned on buying the updated S4i-II model, but after reading some negative reviews, I decided to spend a bit more and try the R6i. That turned out to be a very good decision. They sound even better than the S4i (which were already excellent), are very comfortable, and with the new style cord they never get tangled up like the S4i always did. Also, since the connectors are heavier duty (which was the weak point in the S4i), I hope to get even more than 3 years usage out of them. To me, they are well worth the extra money.

The good and the bad about R6i...
By Sam on Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2014
I had many headphones throughout the years, and I always settled down on Apple's <not so good> headphones - for one main reason: mic noise cancellation (more about that later). I guess most people are coming from the Klipsch Image S4i Rugged - BLACK All Weather In-Ear Headphones/Klipsch Reference S4 In-Ear Headphones (Discontinued by Manufacturer)/Klipsch Image S5i Rugged In-Ear Headphones with 3-Button Remote (Discontinued by Manufacturer), or even Klipsch Image X7i - Black In-Ear Headphones (I had them all), so I compare the 6i to all of these in terms of functionality, but mainly to the S4i since it's the most popular out of them all. The headphones were tested with iPhone 6+ and also Cowon iAudio 7 (which is pretty old and awesome MP3 player used to target audiophiles back in the days - I use it mainly in the gym). The Good: 1. They sound very good for their price range (sub $100). I would even go further and say the sound is equivalent to headphones that cost $200-300 (since I tried some). They have quite deep bass (not like Monster headphones or Beats by Dr.Dre kind of bass, but overall quite good and balanced). Lows and highs are very good, but to have a full experience of that you need to use high quality audio recordings (320kb/ACC). 2. The cable doesn't tangle. It's straight, which is an improvement over the old edition of the S4i. 3. In some way I think they sound better after breaking them in (30-40 hours of playback) from the S4/S5, but not from the X7. People may not notice the difference if they use low quality audio recordings - again, it makes a lot of difference when playing audio - especially the small details like background noises and instruments output (And no, I'm not an audiophile, just like my music to sound good). The Bad: 1. Although the cable doesn't tangle anymore, it's quite wide, so it's heavier. The cable is also pretty long, and this is also one of the main causes to contribute for the earbuds to fall off. 2. As noted before, the earbuds are falling off constantly - especially during physical activity, even light activity like walking. The earbuds need to be placed very deep in the ear canal in order for them to stay in place. It makes the entire experience uncomfortable after an hour or so since pressure starts to build up in the ear canal, and you really want to take the earbuds off after a while, so your ears would "relax" for quite a bit. Maybe it's just my individual ears, so take this with caution. 3. The remote is placed in an awkward position, pretty high than any other headphones I've tried so far. It makes the entire remote control experience uncomfortable since it's located next to the face (somewhat next to the lower lips/chin - I'm 5"10' by the way if that makes a difference). The remote is also quite heavy, which is probably another reason why the earbuds are falling off constantly. 4. Mic noise cancellation is not good at all. While the mic was improved from the S4i version quite a bit, its noise cancellation abilities are lacking, especially if comparing it to inferior headphones like Apple's. Klipsch's mic catches small noises like transportation (cars/trains/buses), voices of other people that are not really next to you, and many more. I constantly get complains that either I sound like I'm in a bathroom, or there is too much noise around me and they can't hear my voice clearly. This wasn't the case with Apple's headphones. If the mic is important for you, the R6i is probably not the best option. Honestly, I have no preference so far in terms of mic in headphones that also have great sound - it looks like one should make compromises if he/she wants one or another. I will keep looking for the next best headphones out there at the same price range. So far I tried Monster iSport Victory Headphone (still using it in the gym) and Bose SoundTrue In-Ear Headphones for iOS Models, Black and couldn't find a good mic noise cancellation with them either. The Bose also had severe sound bleed, so many people could hear your music when the earbuds were in your ears, which is quite annoying. I pre-ordered Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear - Black (Apple iOS version), I hope they will meet the standards of the "Momentum" over the ear line since they were awesome in terms of sound - but again, the mic should be placed in another test. Hope it helped.
