My Favorite Plantronics Earpiece So Far: Only Slight Downsides
By SomethingElse on Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2018
I've been a fan of Plantronics' bluetooth earpieces since the PLT M50. I'm still using my PLT M50 and a PLT E50, but I decided to buy the M70 as a backup. Since I didn't like the E50 as much as the M50, I was somewhat prepared to be disappointed with the M70. You know how companies "improve" things and then the "improvement" turns out to actually ruin it in some way? Yeah. That's what I was expecting. I'm happy to say, however, that the Plantronics M70 is my favorite Bluetooth earpiece EVER! It's super lightweight. The combination of the over-the-ear hook and the rubber in-ear piece keeps it in place so well that even shaking my head or doing crazy dance moves doesn't budge it. Due to these two things, I often forget I'm wearing it and start thinking, "Oh, crud, where did I leave my earpiece?" However, anyone who says that I have called them ON MY PHONE, talking to them WITH MY EARPIECE, asking if they saw where I put it is a liar and a slanderer. Because I have not, in fact, done that. Also, I have never looked for my glasses while wearing my glasses, or searched frantically for my keys while holding them in my hand. No I haven't. Shut up, all my real life friends! I have NOT. Ahem. Anyway, back to the Plantronics M70. Folks, I love this thing! The only potential downside I see is that possibly the ear hook thingy might break with constant use, so be really careful with it. You can pop the hook off and put it on the other way so that you can wear this in either ear: I suppose this is a downside, in a way. The PLT M50 had a nice, built-in swivel for the ear hook so that you could just turn it around for use on either ear. Having to pop the hook off and replace it is a little irritating after being spoiled by the M50, and I'm concerned that the hook feels a bit cheap and flimsy. I'm pretty sure I'm going to break it at some point, although so far, I haven't. It also seems to take a little longer to answer a call when you tap the button than the M50 did, but so far, this is just a slight annoyance. To be honest, I like this so much I've bought two of them. I leave one set up for my left ear and one set up for my right. I think this gives me less of a chance of breaking the hook, and it's equally comfortable in either ear. (NOTE: what's comfortable to me might not be for you, depending on your ear size, shape, and so forth. It's very comfortable for me, and it's the same in either ear. If it's uncomfortable to you, it'll probably be uncomfortable in either ear. YMMV) In summary: PROs: Lightweight Fits securely in ear Decent sound quality Decent microphone/talk quality: I don't have anyone going "What? What?" when on phone calls. CONs: Over-the-ear hook seems flimsy Must remove and replace ear hook to wear in either ear Takes a second or so after hitting the answer button to actually answer incoming calls But overall, I really love this little thing!

It is best not to mess with the volume on the unit ...
By Jacob on Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2016
The M70 Bluetooth works well for what I paid for it, but overall it is not a very high quality item. The switch for the on/off on the unit works, but if you put the slightest pressure on the switch towards the center, the bluetooth will turn on or off depending on the position it is in. The volume button also does not work well. It is almost impossible to change the volume on the unit while it is in your ear. There isn't a clear way to tell whether you are increasing or decreasing the volume, until the volume is maxed out or where you can barely hear it. It is best not to mess with the volume on the unit at all; just control it from your phone. When the unit turns on, it gives you the talk time remaining which is beneficial so you know when to charge it. It seems like the more you use it, the longer the battery lasts. Whereas if you only use it every couple of days, it seems like the power drops much faster.
