Nice set with features like Direct TV enabled.

The first flat screen TV I purchased 12 years ago, was a Samsung 42 inch standard definition Plasma display (great display still working). Since then I have owned a SONY Bravia and now a Samsung smart LED TV. Of the three sets, I am really happy with the UN32H5500 from Samsung. For the price, you get a whole lot of features in a smaller set that looks great. We purchased the 32 inch model for use in a bedroom, with plans to use it occasionally outside for hot tub viewing. Because I wanted to wall mount this set, I wanted the simplicity of having the DirecTV client inside the set, which is why I purchased this model. I used the VideoSecure ML531BE (purchased through Amazon) as the wall mount. This is a great little wall mount and came with hardware capable of supporting many different sets. I checked the wall mounting section of the Samsung manual to make sure I had the correct size attachment bolts (DO NOT use the spaces that come with the wall mount, they are not needed). I had the TV mounted to the wall in about an hour. I am pretty happy with the picture and sound quality of this TV. The on screen setup instructions were very clear and easy to use, with the exception of too many User agreements to view and acknowledge. And setting up user ids and passwords for my apps took a bit long due to the textual interface. But, the intuitiveness of the Smart TV option is MUCH better than my SONY Bravia. There are plenty of interfaces on back of this set, which due to the wall mounting I hope to never use. But I do appreciate having these options. What I do have is a single ethernet cable connect to the back for access to: 1. All my internet apps (Amazon, Netflix, HBOGO etc.) and smart hub gives me easy access to them. 2. My internal network and network storage for using DLNA to view my media files. 3. My DirecTV service. Yes it may be nice to have all of this wirelessly, but the DTV RVU is only supported via direct ethernet. But I have access to hundreds of hours or viewing through ONE single cable. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend Samsung products. For readers looking to use this set with DirectTV I am posting my experience getting the set activated below. Using 2014 Samsung RVU enabled set (model UN32H5500). First of all, I do not believe there is anyway to get this set activated as an RVU client without contacting DTV and paying the $6 equipment charge. But, my experience shows that the set can be activated without a DTV installer AND without a DECA box. When I first hooked up the set, I had it connected to an external mini client from DTV (not sure if this helped or not). After I connected my ethernet cable to the router in the basement, I could not access the Internal RVU in the source even though all internet apps were working fine. Two hours later, for know apparent reason, I could. I tried to add the Samsung as a client form the main Genie TV and got a message on the new TV to call DTV. I called during normal business hours as someone else suggested. The rep was very helpful and took all of the info like the TV mac address. We got to a point where I could see the channel info banner on the TV, but no picture. The rep thought that I may need to have the DECA installed, for which I already had an appointment schedule for the next day. Later that night, we had the set turned on using the mini client and there was some mild audio distortion. I checked all of the connections on the set and mini client and just for the heck of it, I tried the internal RVU as from the source menu. RVU now had picture and sound. I completely disconnected the mini client and every thing is working great on the internal RVU. No DECA installed. Direct ethernet from TV to router in basement that the Genie is connect to. Taking some time getting used to how to access all of the DTV functions form the Samsung remote, but everything else works great.

SECOND THOUGHTS about the H5500 series
By Reel To Real on Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2015
UPDATE 2/4/15. I've downgraded my review from 5 stars (for the 40" set) to 3 stars for the 32" version of the H5500. I recently purchased both the 40" and the 32" H5500 sets. First the 40" and later the 32". The 40" has a TS01 panel. The 32" set has a US01 panel. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE in picture quality between these two. The TS01 is outstanding. The US01 screen is noticeably less sharp with less detail. Flesh tones are not as true either. It is clearly inferior to the TS01. They are supposedly both Samsung (not third party) panels. I've made careful comparisons between these two sets. If you can get a 32" set with a TS01 panel, GET IT. If it comes with the more recent US01 panel, you'll just be getting an average set that's no better and possibly worse than the competition. I am adept at tweaking the picture settings to obtain the best possible picture for contrast, sharpness, color, skin tone, etc. Though the 32" set isn't bad, I'm disappointed that the panel won't display the incredible detail and superior flesh tones of the 40" version of the same H5500 series. This was my initial review: My wife and I ordered the H6350 40 inch set on Black Friday from Amazon for the amazing price of $447.00, but we sent it back. The reason: We couldn't stand the shiny and cheap-looking chrome metal base. If it were brushed-silver it might have stood a chance. I knew it had a chrome base and though we preferred black, we thought we could adjust to it, considering the deal we were getting. The base on the H6350 swivels, but since we were placing the TV on top of a dresser in our bedroom directly in front of our bed, we didn't need a swivel base. Well, we couldn't stand the look of the base and decided to go for the H5500 set instead. Amazon's price for this set was higher now than what we paid for the 6350 (and the best deals were over). We purchased it when we came across a price break at another retailer. To make this long story a little shorter, we love our 40 inch H5500. It's only 60 Hz instead of 120 on the 6350, but it's perfectly fine. We don't use it for gaming, so motion blur is not a consideration. The higher Hz is really only desirable for gamers. It doesn't add anything to regular programming or fast moving scenes in movies. Sports action looks just as good at 60 Hz as at 120 Hz. Some experts may say they can tell the difference, but most casual viewers cannot. (I also have a 55 inch 4K Samsung set with only 60 Hz and sports action motion is perfectly fine - no complaints whatsoever. The H5500 has the quad core processor which may power apps and their downloads faster than other sets, so they say. The WiFi sensitivity in the H5500 is excellent. Could not expect it to be better. The H6350 has Micro Dimming which the H5500 does not, and which may or may not be desirable. The picture quality on our H5500 set is outstanding (just a notch under that of our new 55" Samsung 4K up-scaling set, (which is so good it's beyond belief) So it comes down to this, the H5500 series all have Samsung made panels, and the picture quality on the H5500 is, I believe, as good as that of the H6350. Our panel has no defects. We find the sound quality and volume to be adequate. As with all new TV's, you have to go through the settings for picture and sound and tweak them to suit your preferences. The black base is unobtrusive and looks good on the dresser and in the room. In summary, needless to say, we are very happy with this H5500 Smart TV, which is a real upgrade over their earlier model Smart TV.
