Great Value good perfomance...

LOVE IT! Best value I have found. Big enough so as not to lose it easily yet small enough to forget its there. Had to get used to reaching around back to control it and its unique modular charging method. Sometimes it shuts down with no warning. But at half the price of comparable units, no complaints here.

Swim, but Don't Breathe!
By SIGNTEACH on Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2014
I was terribly excited about adding some pizzazz to swimming laps, so I started slowly with this low-end device to see if music in the water was even worthwhile. It happened that the first try was an evening workout on a clear night with a full moon on the rise, and I plunged into the water for a life-changing experience. My favorite tunes blared (not too loudly as I am a sign language interpreter, and I dearly understand the value of what is left of my hearing); the water rushed over me; the moon shone brightly; and I began my inspirational new way of swimming laps forever--until I turned my head to breathe. Each time I turned my head to breathe while swimming freestyle, the music stopped. When I submerged swimming breaststroke, the Bluetooth lost connection. If I perched the unit on my forehead and swam backstroke, I had moderate success, but I am a freestyler. What I ultimately did was water aerobics to the beat of my music. I couldn't even use the kick board because each end of the pool was apparently too far from my iPhone (NOT waterproof, but inside a Ziplock bag), so I kept losing the Bluetooth connection. If you are a casual swimmer and can keep your head nearly still while using this device, this might work for you. It does, indeed play whatever is on your Bluetooth enabled music player, and it is, in fact, waterproof, BUT if you are a lap swimmer or you need to move your head around for any other reason, this is a complete failure of a device. My next move will either be the waterproof iPod Shuffle or more likely, the highly recommended by virtually every swim and technical site, the Finis Neptune, the bone conduction waterproof MP3 player that does not require earbuds (no wrestling with the little suckers slipping out and causing water to fill the ears). Both devices are considerably more expensive than this Pyle of _____ , but you know what they say! you get what you pay for. Many thanks to Amazon for honoring its return policy. No hassles; no haggling. This was returned the next business day.

UPDATE:I've had these for aprox. a month and a half. They have never gone in the pool (my old style of these did, which is how I know they won't work in the water.), they have occasionally gone in the shower with me. Their use has been maybe an hour or so of listening most days, and two days a week 7+ hours of listening while I'm at work. They have never been submerged. However not even two monthes in, and the right ear bud is cutting out. I know it's a wire issue, because if I tuck the cord behind my ear I can get it to behave. However if I have to tilt my head to look at something the wire cuts out. I can't use them for running any longer, nor can I comfortably use them at work.I COULD send them into the manufacturer to get fixed, but a. I have to pay to send them there, and b. I have to pay to have them send them back. I'm sorry, I think if your product essentially breaks within two monthes, that you should fix things for free. If I had them for a year that'd be different.Oh, and the microphone doesn't work at all anymore. I've answered calls with this device, only to have them not hear me when I talk because of this.Let me start by saying: Don't use the Bluetooth for swimming. The water is going to cut your signal out constantly. Nothing more annoying then heading every other note of Let it Go!With that disclaimer in place, I really like these. They're comfortable for me to wear, and small so they disappear under my hair. I can wear these at work, and they're easy to take an easy bud out to talk to people before putting them back in and concentrating.I also wear them for my non swimming workouts, and they stay in well with the land buds, if I put them in right the first time. I can go from my workout to my shower and getting ready without having to take them offI plan, at some point, to get the mp3 player that fits these headphones for swimming. When that time comes happen I'll update this review.
Faulty product design

The unit worked fine initially but as time goes on and the chlorine from the pool works the connectors. The headset and electronic unit corrodes to a point where no connection is made and the unit stops working. This is my third time buying and it has been the same every time, the connectors corrode. Now I'm stuck with three nonfunctioning headsets only because of the connectors. If the connector/ connection issue were corrected, by use of a different material, a more durable material, this would be a great product.I got six to nine months use out of each of the three I purchased, I've had enough. To think I have to send Pyle $15.00 for shipping and handling to claim a warranty. Why not just honor your product?

First its not comfortable to wear and non adjustable. the down turns poke into the top of you ears. Second the battery and control module that comes out to get charged fits in poor and alway looks like its going to fall out. it isnt till you put it on it actually looks like its in there right. Sound is ok but it does not hold a charge. After freshly charging it 3 seperate times I used it and each time it lasted no more thatn 10 min. I only bought this as I need a water proof one for Kayaking and if I fall out I dont want it destroyed. This is the only one bluetooth claiming to be water proof but it doesnt last or work well so its useless. I went back to the wired ones

So I decided to get this because I wasn't going swimming with these and most of the bad reviews were swim related.I'm sick over the money I spent on these.First off, the sound is awful, voice is scratchy when it works, you can only hear music. When someone tries to talk all I heard was static.Bluetooth headset are pretty much the same as in pairing to things and working after that. It's just depending on how well it actually works. With how bad it sounds though, it's definitely not worth $46 something. I'd love to get my money back but I refuse to pay for shipping and most things that are crap is a loss cause. I really don't like to waste my time on companies that sell bad products. 90% of the time they blame you for their products not working and then you get in a fight with them. And really its my stupidity, with the countless bad reviews this has has. I just should of listened. After the voice chatting thing didn't work, I thought to myself at least I'd have it for music at the gym and if I get any phone calls there, maybe it would be better. But no, I can't even use it for that either. It's a piece of crap and also, it is extremely uncomfortable, the ear plugs look like they're about to break. it's so poorly made, f you ask me, this seems more like a kids toy. You know the cheesy sounding microphone. that's what this reminds me of. It's just so disappointing. like a dollar store product. DO NOT BUY THIS!!

The ear buds fall off without the slightest provocation. I'll be swimming and they'll fall off in my ear canal. I'll bump them and they'll fall off. i've lost some already, which is obnoxious at best. While the device can be charged by my computer, it is not recognized by any of the 3 computers I've tried it with, so loading media onto it to use it as an MP3 is out of the question. As others have said (and as I expected) while swimming, if either the phone or the headset are under even a thin layer of water, the signal is lost. This is resolved by leaving my phone on the water's edge and putting the bulk of the headset on either my forehead or the back of my head, depending on my swim stroke. The microphone is mediocre at best, in that IF the person I am speaking to can hear me AT ALL, they can only hear me a little, but it is impossible to tell from one call to the next if it will work.Overall, the theory of this headset is good, and if the ear buds would STAY IN PLACE, I'd give it 3 stars. It's not great, but, other than the earbuds, works more or less just as advertised (also the MP3 part, but that's less of a problem for me)... but not being able to keep the earbuds attached to the headset makes this damn near unusable.
It works in water but will corrode connectors over time. Sending it in for warranty work 6 months in, cause there's no sound.

I haven't swam with it yet, but I took a handful of showers so I wouldn't disturb the baby while I listened to my iPod. And I ran in the rain once. Worked fine. Battery life isn't the best and will die even without use, so charge it before you have to use it. The sound ramps up in a second or two when activating. It's not a big deal till you pause and play. This is my 6th month with it and sound no longer works. I think the connectors corroded inside the head band. I'm turning it in for warranty work now and will review on the customer service once I'm done. I'm not an audiophile so I'm not going to comment on bass and range. I'm just glad it works.

Firstly - I do not swim in these. I don't need waterproof, and I only occasionally even walk away from my source of audio. I use these in the middle of the night to watch tv on my iPad while nursing my baby (or else fall asleep...) and also to listen to music during waking hours and sometimes while making dinner in the kitchen. So the greatest distance these have had to reach a signal is maybe from across the house, and our house is small. The battery life isn't as long as I would like, maybe about two hours of use, but that's not a real issue for me as I just charge it after each feeding. The indicator light is BRIGHT. And it flashes. I keep thinking I'll cover it with a sticker or something. Also, turning it on takes way too long to hold down the button. I just skimmed the directions so perhaps you can double click or something, but holding down the middle button for 10 seconds is tedious to turn on/off.I initially received a broken pair, the usb nub on the receiving piece was snapped. I'm not sure if they arrived like that or if it's just such a fragile thing that when I attempted to take the pieces apart, I inadvertently snapped it. After receiving and using the second pair (great customer service, Amazon!), I do think the first set was already broken but I am very gentle with popping the receiver piece out of the headset. The sound quality is fine, though I haven't really scrutinized it. The controls aren't intuitive like they should be seeing as how they're on the back of your neck and you don't look at them when using them. I give 4 stars because all these little things don't matter that much to me, all I really wanted where a solid pair of not-staticky earphones that the baby won't pull on the cord. These fit my needs just fine (except for that blinking light).

I have had these for less than 3 months and have thoroughly enjoyed them, until a very sweaty 5K.Toward the end of the race all buttons stopped working on the unit due to sweat. Waterproof headphones should be able to endure some sweat.I can still power on and off and that is about it. I can no longer skip or replay tracks without having to dig my phone out. I can no longer control volume without the phone in my hands.I emailed Pyle about this and all they said is to mail the unit to them with receipt and they will repair and send back, all at my cost for shipping.I'm sorry, but your product is defective and you should be paying for the shipping, both ways. In fact, you should just be replacing the unit and I can send the defective unit back to you. I shouldn't have to wait 8-10 days without my music while working out.Guess I will have to continue the hunt for a TRULY waterpoof BT Headphone unit!!!!
