Sony X On-Ear Headphones

First things first, the sound of music can vary greatly from device to device. These headphones are for people who like bass, particularly a more muddy and warm bass. Actually, these speakers remind me of my Polk PSW10 subwoofer before I tuned it. Unfortunately, without the ability to tune these headphones in, the bass can be very overwhelming and destroy the quality. The highs are okay, but the lows drown out the mids and you lose the vocals. I suppose if you crank your volume up really high, this won't be a problem, but if you listen at a lower volume, you may not enjoy your experience with these. That is the only real negative I would say about these headphones, and they fall in between my ipod earbuds (5th gen) and my Monster N-Tune HDs which are still better than these. The Sony X headphones are a nice compromise and a good go to when you don't want the uncomfortable N Tunes or the bass-less ipod earphones. The best part of the X headphones is they are phenomenally comfortable with the memory foam and for me, the perfect fit. If you had a smaller head than me, I could totally see these falling off your head. Definitely recommend trying them on at a store first and moving your head around. The sound quality depends on the type of music you listen to, hip hop, dance, pop, EDM, techno, whatever you call it, sounds good on these. Indie rock, or soft rock, classic rock or other music that focuses less on the lows and more on the mids and highs sounds MEH. Get these for travel and/or comfort, but make sure they aren't your only headphones or you will be left wanting.
