Fantastic Value For the Price!
By Ryan Tackett on Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2015
This Grip works exactly as described. It is super easy to connect and stays connected. The shutter button and scroll wheels do not feel like the nikon buttons but they work just the same. I have been using my D7100 with this grip for just over 3 months and have not had a single problem. I can not speak to the maximum battery life of the two batteries, however, I shot well over 2,000 photos in 3 days on vacation and never had to charge the batteries. (going to be dependent on batteries themselves) The AA tray is great if you are in a pinch but battery life is crippled when using this. I captured maybe 400 photos before the batteries died (make sure to use rechargeable batteries).I have used other cameras with the Nikon branded battery grip and while the grip and buttons feel amazing, I cannot justify spending well over $200 for that grip. You can usually find this grip onsale at a quarter of the cost of a Nikon.Overall a fantastic value for the price and I will definitely look to this brand again for my next cameras.

Drains the battery overnight...
By Mike on Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2013
It looks good and quality seems to be good. The rotating controls had a positive action and feel good with proper torque. The joystick works ok a bit soft but useable. The AF button feels like it dose not have any spring action and very soft but it works.I tested all functions with 2 freshly-charged batteries, and all was well. So I turned off the camera and put it in my bag for an early morning use. When I turned the camera on in the morning it was frozen and refused to do anything.I removed the grip and camera was fine. Then I put the grip back on and it was frozen again. This time I took the battery out the grip and check it. it was depleted completely. I check the camera battery it was full. It seems that it drains it own battery overnight. This could explain why some reviewers had complaint about both batteries going dead simultaneously. I think the grip drains it's own battery quickly and then the camera switch to the internal battery. And the only notice it when camera stop working.Anyway I returned it today. I have 2 other after market grips (meike) that work just fine with my other cameras.PS: By the way Amazon shipped an open box returned product to me, This is only the 2nd time this happened in the last 10 or so years I have been buying from them. But both happened in the last 12 months. I hope the fulfillment operation is not going bad.
