I'm Impressed!
By Old Alice on Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2015
I only have a mild hearing problem, and wanted something to help 'increase the volume'. At under $11, this seemed like a good way to 'start' to see if I could comfortably wear a hearing aid, and see if it would help. This is great!! Pros: It increases volume of all noise around you. That includes wind noises if you are in the car, and traffic, as well as voices. It doesn't distinguish between sounds at all. So imagine turning up your car radio or TV a couple of notches, that's how it works for me. It's all I need because as I age I find that I have to strain to make out words in a crowd, and often ask people to repeat what they said, which can be embarrassing. I can hear talking, but without a bit more volume, conversation often sounds garbled. This is perfect! It's pretty comfortable. I wouldn't wear this all day, but I could. I get annoyed wearing sunglasses for a few hours, as my ears are sensitive, and this is far more comfortable than wearing sunglasses which was a pleasant surprise. You can also hear with it turned off. There are 3 ear adapters to fit different ear sizes. I have a very small ear canal, so was delighted at how the smallest one fit. The price was amazing! Under $11 for a working hearing aid! I was thinking about going to Costco to get one, and the prices for the fanciest go up to $1000. I only needed a bit more volume, so this is perfect for me. It also gives me the opportunity to 'try out' how a hearing aid works, since I've never had one. Great deal! Cons: The directions for battery insertion stink. There's a diagram, but it's not very clear, and will take a few minutes to figure out. Not a big deal, but I can see why people might think it was dead on arrival if they insert the battery in wrong as I did at first. Battery life- I don't know how long it lasts, but like anything small with a battery, I would imagine not long if you keep it on at all times. Its easy to turn on and off, so once I figured out what volume I wanted to set it to (2 1/2 out of 6 for me, and my son helped me read the number behind my ear), I could just turn it on and off as I need. My husband tried it, and now he wants me to buy him one too. He doesn't really need a hearing aid, he thinks it would be great to have to hear conversations in other rooms! Lol.

DOA
By Jeff D. Flack on Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2024
First off, I received the product really quickly thanks to Amazon! The product came in a small package as it is small obviously. It comes w/ two extra ear buds, small and large, the medium bud was already attached. I took out the battery, followed the instructions to a "t" and I could not for the life of me push the small lever that held the battery in to the unit. It would not fit no matter how many times and variations I tried. Finally, I gave up and handed it to my brother who happened to be around and he tried. Same thing until he had to use a small tool to bend the contact that the batter uses to operate so that the lever would close and 'sorta' snap in place, albeit, not snuggly. No noise, no nothing. I tried everything. Note: The battery was in the correct position as shown in instructions. It cannot fit the other way. So, this unit was DOA. Nothing I did worked. Note: This is item is NOT eligible for free return or at all. DOA, stay away,
