Best soundscape you can get for $20!
By Benjamin Gulder on Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2015
I am a violinist and a violin/music teacher, and I very much enjoy an immersing sound experience though I don't usually have the budget to support that love. I generally bought ifrogz earbuds from walmart for around $10. I have bought three pairs of those over the last year because the wires would very quickly break inside the housing at the plug. I then bought a fourth pair of ifrogz, a $20 "upgrade" version with a microphone and click button with 6mm drivers, and decidedly did not enjoy the sound from those. Then I saw these Deigo earbuds from JLab on amazon, and was immediately attracted to them because of the fact that they utilize neodymium magnets for the wonderful 10mm drivers. I went ahead and bought them because I assumed that my new ifrogz would soon break as usual. It is almost unfair to compare my current ifrogz and these diegos even though they come in at the same price point of $20. The diegos beat any earbud I have ever listened to or borrowed from any of my friends. I would buy it again no questions asked. It is well worth the twenty dollars. Pros: Crisp highs, balanced mids, and powerful yet not overpowering bass. Array of ear gels to find the best fit for you. Well placed mic and button. Tangle free cord! I have never had this cord tangle, even after stuffing it in my pocket for an extended period of time. Stylish look. Cons: At times uncomfortable housing, mostly evident when laying in bed, or riding in the car and resting your head on seat belt etc. But, this is a worthy price to pay for the spectacular sound quality at this price point. I can't stress enough how good the sound quality is. I enjoyed these even more than some headphones I have been able to borrow. If you are considering these and you have the money, BUY THEM. Update: 2-9-2015 I bought these in December of 2014, and just a week or two ago the stereo 3.5mm plug broke off in the audio jack of my google nexus. I was able to get the remainder of the plug out of the jack, and I immediately contacted JLab and began the RMA under warranty process. It was quick and easy, and though I wasn't happy that I had to pay for shipping to send the broken ones back to JLab, I can understand why they would do it that way. Instead of sending you a replacement of the identical product, they give you store credit and free shipping. So, you can get the same product , or if you have a mind to, you can apply it to a different product. I decided to try out their brand new CORE custom fit earbuds just cause. I have absolutely no dissatisfaction with the diego earbuds, I just wanted to try another of their products. I will definitely purchase from them again, and as you can see, I have given them five stars.

Better sound than my Apple ear buds at first, didn't last
By goodenough on Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2014
Update: Eight months after purchase, these are nearing the end of their life. I listen to maybe 2 hours of podcasts a day, and am always pulling my ear buds in and out of pockets and bags, so they get some abuse. Still, I think my original Apple ear buds lasted longer than this. These ear buds are now failing in multiple ways: 1. The interchangeable rubber ear pads attach well, but not well enough for my mistreatment. I have lost one each of the size slightly too small for my ear and the size slightly too large. So now I have one survivor of each set, which makes for a mismatched set of ear pads. 2. Point number 1 is now fairly moot, since now one of the ears has just given up working. This happened five or six months in. I don't expect a set of ear buds to last forever. I think these could have done better. I was very happy with them for the first couple of months-- see original review below. Original review: Four stars. I use these with my phone. Compared to my old Apple ear buds, these have really great sound quality. Note that by the end of their time with me, my old ear buds had stopped working in the left ear and it's possible that anything would have great sound quality in comparison. I'm happy though. The shape seems better at directing noise into my ear rather than blasting it in all directions. On the lowest volume setting on my phone, I can hear my podcasts loud and, even in noisy environments. They come with several sizes of the rubber shells that hold them in your ear. After trying them all, I've found a size that feels comfortable and doesn't fall out of my ear too easily. The microphone seems to be working just fine. I've used it to talk on the phone and record voice memos. You can squeeze the microphone to pause music, etc just like with the Apple ear buds, but there's no mechanism to change the volume. I can't comment yet on durability, as I've only had these about a week.
