UPS did their best to destroy the box and contents which caused slight damage to the bottom side drum head on the snare drum, so at least noone can see it and it didn't hurt the sound or performance of the snare drum. Not a single scratch on any of the drums and hardware though. Better Luck next time UPS! I purchased this set as a Christmas present to myself to learn on, since I have only played the drums a few times before. It arrived onDec. 24th. I figured that the cymbals would not be of good quality from the picture posted in the ad, so I purchased a separate set of Eagletone 18" ride and a pair of 14" hi-hats on Amazon and I am glad I did. I am keeping the 16" ride inluded in this kit, but I am tossing out the hi-hats. About the only other item I will upgrade is the stand for the snare drum as it is very lite-duty. Other than those two items, the drum set is actually very well made. Real Wood Construction and Good heavy duty hardware packsge. A great set of drum heads for top and bottom of each drum. The set has a Great sound. The snare drum was the only drun that did not require assembly. The set even had (5) extra tension bolts, (4) tension nuts and (5) washers for the bass, toms and snare drums. I am very happy with the drum set. Thanks Amazon!
