So i actually initially bought the "higher end" shoqbox (7300 i think) and a few days later i got an email from amazon with this one at nearly half what i paid. Only thing is i didn't notice they were different models because all i saw was the price. So i returned what i bought a got this one. So after i open it and realize my mistake i was bummed. But then i listened to it..... And you know what? I couldn't tell a difference between the two. At least not one to warrant spending an extra $60. If anything the more expensive one sounds a bit filler since it has extra speakers, but again for the price I'll keep my money and this unit. So onto the actual review Sound quality is better than good but not great. Bass can kinda flubby but using an equalizer app solves this handily. Its just out of the box the sound balancing isn't great. I have noticed the sound did improve a little after several hours of use so it seems there's a break in period. I can't get very far from it before it starts to drop signal, but that very well could be my device. i haven't used the aux input yet because I'm not 40 and i know how to use Bluetooth... Build quality was actually pretty nice. I'm not really a huge fan of philips to be honest but that is for another reason. Anyways the unit feels solid in the hand and nothing really creaks or wobbles. Well that's not entirely true, the power button, you know the one you'll be using the most? Yea its a bit on the flimsy side compared to the rest of the speaker which i found surprising. So i do have to pay a little more care when turning it on and off, if it's not pressed perfectly straight it'll "catch" the side of the little cove it settles into. Although i have to say the blue light around the power button is very neat. I'm not fully worried it'll break as long as i pay attention to it. One of the really neat things i found with this speaker that I'm pretty sure Phillips didn't intend has to do with the little cover on the bottom for the charge input. When the unit is on its side you can open the flap and rest a phone on it. The phone will stay in place since there's little rubber pads on the inside of the flap so it's nice to prop up and watch a movie or if you have YouTube playing. So overall i would say for what i paid ($75) this is a very nifty speaker. There's a button that tells you out loud how much volume there is as well as walking you they the set up process with verbal cues. I recommend it.

Decent Product for the price.

Chose this product over the more expensive options for a college dorm room. Sound is clear and crisp, bass is decent but not impressive, but does have a full sound to it. Motion controls do not work as advertised on the product i received (not sure if it is defective or if this is typical issue, but I did not have intentions of using those features when I bought it) and the description is a bit misleading as it does NOT some with a wired connection to connect directly to your ipod or similar device.
