LOVE IT!
By Tech Nerd 123 on Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2014
I purchased this sub 2 days ago and it already arrived just a couple of hours ago. As soon as it arrived, out of the box and right into my entertainment center it went. This thing is literally plug and play, no fancy set-up required. As soon as i plugged in one of the RCA cables I heard a little rumble of feedback (which for those of you who don't know, feedback is extremely normal and not in any way bad) and knew I was in for a treat! I use this sub for my desktop gaming computer setup in my room. It excels with frequencies 25-120Hz (so set the crossover to 120Hz for best results) and is clearer and louder than the 400 watt Bose 12 inch subwoofer in my car! And for a fraction of the price. I bought this for 60$ and let me just say, it was possibly the best 60$ I've spent in a very long time. Pros: -I got it for 60$ brand new! -Since it's only an 8-inch driver, it makes it significantly more long-lasting. -Volume is adjustable anywhere from a tiny rumble to shakes the walls! Seriously! My walls literally shook! -Sounds very crisp, clean, and musical! -Blends in with just about any furniture. -Other reviews have said this isn't a "party sub" but indoors it'll turn your living room into the club! -Possibly the best-sounding and loudest sub in this price range. Definitely worth at least twice the price! Cons: -It wasn't free! -The 8-inch driver, although it sounds clean and tight, can't clearly produce sounds below about 25Hz (humans can only hear 20-20,000) -Bigger than I expected, but not too big! The enclosure is about 10x10x10 inches Other notes: -Excels when using RCA plugs instead of traditional speaker cables -100w does not directly correlate to loudness. It's louder than you'd expect! -I recommend using this for computer or home theater setups in a medium or small sized room -Wish I bought two!

Buzzing/humming has not been fixed as of November 2017
By Tee on Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2018
I had high hopes for this subwoofer at first. Seems to be decently built and it sounds really good without taking up too much room. However, as other users have mentioned...there's the issue with the electrical "humming/buzzing" sound coming from the built-in amp in the unit (not the speaker itself, but the amp). At first, it was barely audible. I could have lived with it because it sounded really good with music and complimented my Elac bookshelf speakers well. But as time went on, the buzzing/humming grew louder and louder until it got to the point to where you could hear it standing 10-15 feet away. The music itself was unaffected, but the noise was definitely louder than it was at first and growing as time went on. Mine was a November 2017 build, so apparently Pioneer has yet to address the problem. As as other folks have mentioned, the noise starts the minute it is plugged into an outlet, regardless of what mode it's in or if it's hooked to a receiver/amp or not. I tried it in 5 different plugs all throughout the house and nothing fixed it. This is the only sub I have that does this. Fortunately, mine started acting up soon enough to where I could return it to Amazon. I reached out to Pioneer first and have yet to hear from them. Andrew Jones definitely got the sound right. Too bad the built-in amp ruined the experience.
