Nice design, mine however lost it's ability to hold sufficient tension on the "ball" after 1.5 yrs of light use..I sent it back to the USA distributor last week for this problem, and it was quickly replaced with a brand new one..This item comes with a LIFETIME manufacturer's warranty, and I took advantage of it! I'm now back up and running!

This pistol grip gets good reviews all over the net and I am sorry, I don't get it. Out of the box it was great. The detent on the panoramic mount was a little weak with the camera on it, but other than that it was comfortable and worked well.....for 2 weeks. The problem is, it doesn't last. The unit is completely non-serviceable. The tensioning screw only goes so far and then is blocked. So when the tension on the ball becomes slack (And it will), you can just throw it away. This unit lasted 1 trip through Utah, Arizona, and Colorado and now will no longer support my camera, even with the lightest of lenses on it. I am not rough on my equipment so there is no excuse. If you have a DSLR, do not buy this thing. I would have made out better by burning the money and taking photos of it to sell as stock photography than to waste it on this. The grip is glued on over the screws so you can't take it apart to repair it. I ended up replacing this with the Manfrotto 322RC2 which is a much better choice. The 322RC is much more robust and serviceable.
