Jawbone ICON HD Thinker HD BT Headset

The only bluetooth set I have tried for comparison is the Plantronics Voyager Legend, just to give you some context because I would not be complaining about some things if I did not use the other headset of comparison. This fit is comfortable, secure, and you have the option of using the over the ear loop or not. The style is great and you don't look like a telemarketer when you wear it - this is a plus compared to the Plantronics Voyager Legend. People that I speak with say they can hear me just fine and that they cannot tell that I am using it. Reception is great from the phone. battery life is adequate. There are several things which are disappointing, in order of importance to me: 1. The sound is great in quiet areas. When I am in the car and I have to turn the volume up, the sound becomes really high pitched and it feels like someone is screaming in your ear, which is uncomfortable. So you are forced to turn it down but then it is difficult to hear. As a result, you are straining from the high pitched sound or straining to hear - not that pleasant. I have since seen other people complain about this on the internet. With the Plantronics Voyager Legend, I am able to turn up the sound without it screeching in your ear. 2. Integration with Samsung Galaxy S3 is not great compared to the Plantronics Voyager Legend. With the Legend, I don't have to think about anything - just pop it in my ear when I get a phone call and it answers automatically. Also, if i choose to just pick up the handset, the sound goes automatically to my phone. It automatically know where to send the signal. With the Icon HD, once it is paired with my phone, each time I pick up my phone I have to manually choose whether I want the sound to go the the earpiece or through the handset. Sort of annoying - it's an extra button you have to press all the time. The pairing is not as stable either and I have to frequently go to setting and pair the set again. 3. Charger uses a usb connection, which at first I thought was great but it attaches quite snugly and not easy to put in or detach with one hand - this is a problem in the car. The Plantronic Voyager Legend has a magnet style connection, which at first I did not like because it requires you to buy proprietary chargers, but works great to just pop on and off, even in the dark and even with one hand (the two pieces just find each other if you get them close). Overall, I think it's an ok product and I use it all the time but I think it could be a great product if they improved the speakers, the charger (because people use it in the car and should not have to fumble with two hands), and make the integration with phone more smooth and stable.
