Excellent value, very comfortable

I love this headset. I have spent over 12 hours a day wearing it and it never gets uncomfortable even though I wear glasses. It does not block out external sound, which means I can listen to my game on the computer speakers and talk to my friends on Ventrilo or Teamspeak on the headset with no problems at all. The sound is perfectly good as far as I'm concerned, although I will admit to not being an audiophile and therefore perhaps not the best judge. I do know that the first time I put these on and was listening to my game on them, I was amazed at the environmental sounds I heard that I'd never heard before. I love these so much that this is the second set I've purchased, which leads me to the one con I've found. The mini-usb port for connecting these to the charger (laptop or any other usb charger) seems a little fragile, more so than any other mini-usb connector I've used (dozens). The connector on the first headset finally got to the point where it only charged if the cord was angled a bit - which wasn't too big a deal when I wasn't wearing them, but got problematic when I wanted to wear them and charge them at the same time. I'm trying to be more careful when plugging in the new set to avoid the issue in the future. The first set worked for about 2 years with no other issues, and as far as I can tell, there are no changes between the original set and this new one. These can be used while plugged in and charging, which was a huge part of the reason I bought these in the first place. Many other wireless headsets cannot be used while charging - dumb design if you ask me. The battery life from fully charged to depleted and making warning noises (annoying enough that I plug it in immediately) is somewhere around 4-5 hours. I use the little usb nano receiver instead of bluetooth, and I get great range if I wander away to the kitchen but want to keep listening/talking, at least as good as standard bluetooth (the specs say 12m, but I think I've gone further). The mute button on the right earpiece is very convenient and easy to get to and has a little raised bump so it is easy to find with your fingertips. I never have anyone complain about the sound quality of my voice, so I have to assume the microphone is a decent one. The only "issue" with the microphone is that while on Ventrilo, I have to set the sensitivity to a very small number (1-3) to trigger it on voice-activated. Once set properly, however, I've had no issues. Once very clever feature is that the little usb nano receiver has a handy storage place in the left earpiece, so that you won't lose it if you are using the headset on bluetooth instead of radio. Note that this is NOT a Logitech universal dongle, so if you have a Logitech wireless keyboard, mouse, or other device that uses their universal dongle, you will still need this one plugged in to use it in radio mode. I've never used the headset with a mobile phone, so I don't know how well they do or do not work with phones on bluetooth, but I don't imagine this is a good headset to use if you are in a noisy environment (other than your game, of course!), as it does not block out other noise at all. In summary, this is a great headset except for the charging connection, and that can be managed easily enough if you are careful when plugging it in. I'm very pleased with it and recommend it highly.

Nice, although I wish I could find better.

Pros: Works well with my PC (their USB Nano), PS3 (game chat only - issue with PS3, not headset), Mobile Phone and Ipad (bluetooth). Loud enough that I can mow the lawn while listening to audible books from my ipad (do have to move the ipad around a bit, as the lawn mower interference seems to decrease the range). The microphone is good at noise cancellation, unobtrusive when it is folded in, and beats almost any on-the-chest or on-the-ear microphone which simply by definition will never be able to match the sound of a boom mic you can control near your mouth. Fits my head nicely, and is not too tight. Maybe a little loose, so a smaller person may find it too loose (I'm 5'10 with a thin head). You can charge it while wearing it if you don't mind having a USB cable coming from your head (but it only works wireless, so if your device doesn't have bluetooth, you may need two USB ports available, one for the Nano and one for the charger) -- BUT see the problem with this below. Cons: The USB connector is very poorly made and any pressure on it can be very easily change the shap of the metal, so that charging stops working (basically making the headset useless after a certain point). I think this damage can occur most easily if you are charging while wearing it. Within a year of use, the USB connector (required to recharge) seemed to start working. Being the engineer type that I am (if you hit it, maybe it will work?) I tried pushing on the cord and discovered I could make it work by pushing on the USB cord. Now I can get the charger to work only by using a rubber band on the USB cable to pull the cord in forcing the connection internally. I suspect this issue is also why sometimes it seems like it doesn't want to charge at all, but I am unsure. Sometimes it will charge, but sometimes it will work (with rubber band) while plugged in, but not charge. Some reviewers have suggested there may be an issue with a twin battery system over time related to this. So, don't expect more than two years of life on the device. Factor that in to the price and comparison to others. Despite the issues, I have not yet been able to find an alternative bluetooth headset with a boom microphone. They don't seem to exist. Some couple I have found either don't have stereo, don't fit well, and often are 4 times the price. So I am actually considering buying another.
