Sylvania 7-Inch Dual Screen Portable DVD Player

12/23/2013 - The whole reason I purchased this item was because I was the family was going on a long trip and my old portable DVD player finally pooped out. I ordered this item on cyber Monday because I thought it was a really good deal. When I got the item everything seemed to be fine. When I opened the box to install the item two days before leaving, however, I saw there was NO SD card or USB slots and there was no remote either, not even an IR sensor on the unit! When I went back into my account to make sure I understood the item description correctly not only did I see that the item was now $40 cheaper but the description said it was model #SDVD8737 with, YES THAT'S RIGHT, a SD card and USB slot. My model # was SDVD8737A so something was not matching up right. I am able to send the item back to get a refund but now I do not have enough time to get a new one for our trip. Very disappointed in Amazon, they really dropped the ball on this one. I hope the new one will be the correct model # with the correct features. Keeping my fingers crossed. Update 12/29/2013 - Did some research and found out that the problem was NOT Amazon but the manufacturer. The manufacturer has a player that is almost identical to the one I wanted. The SDVD8737 has SD and USB slots but the other player SDVD8738 has NO SD or USB slots. Even the buttons of the SDVD8738 player were different color from the SDVD8737 and SDVD8738 doesn't come with a remote either. It seems as if at the factory the wrong player was put in the wrong box. I talked to Amazon and they gave me an immediate refund. I reordered the player before Amazon pulled the item from their own listing and because it came from a different warehouse it came from a different Lot # so it was the right DVD player. In the end I got great customer service from Amazon and the player I wanted. I noticed that a lot of different reviews said they could not get the right Codec to play stuff from the SD or USB. I had a Sylvania before this one and what I did was get a code converter and tried every type of Codec until I got one that works. I think that it was either MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 with MP3 sound that ended up working. It has to be a specific codec and its dumb I know but it works for me.
