Great, Cheaper, iPad case

This is a really good iPad case. After much research, I purchased 7 of them for use with iPads where I work. We had an official Aplle smart cover, those are kinda lame. They do not protect the whole iPad, don't waste your money. I researched many other cases and found they don't offer the protection we wanted. A lot of 'folio' type cases only clip on the corners of the iPad, but this one wraps around the whole thing. The holes line up nicely around the camera lens, volume buttons, etc.... This Speck Pixel Skin looks sharp, fully protects the ipad, and offers much of what a smart cover offers, in that you can stand it up in multiple ways. I doubt you can find a better case for less than double the price.

Protective Sturdy Cover But Too Heavy!

I love the material that this case used. It is a very sturdy and thick pliable plastic. It would provide great absorption if dropped. It covers the front and back of the case leaving the necessary ports and buttons open. I love that the sides are all covered up. The downside to this case is that its super heavy. It essentially doubles the weight of the iPad. This was not ideal for me since I like to hold it while using it. For those looking to prop it up, it might not be such a bad thing. The cover folds up into a triangle just like Apple's smart cover. It can be used to raise the iPad by an inch or two for easy viewing, or standing it up to use as a movie player. Unlike the Smart Cover, this cover did not have magnets. Instead, it uses an extra tab of plastic that gets folded back and pushed into a hole for securing the triangle. Gets the job done. I found that it did not do a very good job of propping the iPad up for movie viewing. It was not sturdy and my iPad fell over backwards a few times. The big dissapointment is that they did not incorporate magnets for a Smart Cover function. They use a sticky black strip on the inside of the cover. I have a screen protector on and find that it makes a horrible sucking noise everytime I open the cover. I think it would be fine if you didn't have a screen protector. But the noise was very loud and irritating.
