Sunpak 73.7" Deluxe Tri-Monopod

I purchased this tripod so I would have two, one for a camera or camcorder and one for a light. I've only used this tripod 3 times since I've owned it. I've owned it about 5 months. One of the lower leg locks has stopped working. It won't lock all the way. The leg lock is attached in a way that it can't be removed using ordinary tools; maybe it's glued on. The leg locks are just a poor design and I expect the others will also fail over time. The warranty situation is pretty hostile. To get the tripod repaired I'd have to ship it to ToCAD America Inc. in New Jersey, at my expense, with insurance. PLUS they require I include a check for an additional $9.95 for return shipping and handling. They require that you send them the item, the $9.95, the sales receipt, the warranty card (not sure they even gave me one, and if so wouldn't I have mailed that to them when I got my product?), a description of the problem, my name, address, daytime telephone number, and email address. I'm not going to ship it to them at this point, because as I said the leg locks are a poor design that looks like it will give out on all the legs eventually.
