Works like it's supposed to and looks pretty good.

I bought this to replace an existing Seagate Expansion series 1TB drive since it started the known "drive clicking" issue. I expect this iOmega to work as my previous iOmegas are quite old and still functioning. The unit looks good, is quiet and the same dimensions as my Airport Extreme. It does look like the aluminum case on my iMac, but be advised there isn't any aluminum on this drive case. It is entirely plastic with the aluminum look to it. There is a blue LED "I" that blinks on the front when the drive is being accessed. It doesn't really bother me, but it may bother others. At a lower price point, I'm really happy that it had a FW800 connection and it actually came with whichever cables you needed. Although they are short at ~ 3-4 feet. Overall I'm very pleased with it. My iMac immediately recognized it with no problems mounting it. It's only a few days old, so I'll update this review if things change.

Buyer Beware
By JP on Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2010
The first one I received was used. I could tell by the fact that the top of the device has a plastic cover and I could see scuff marks on it. I mentioned it to Amazon and they sent me another one. Same thing, used. I kept it. Now the USB ports aren't working on it. After reading the reviews about Iomega customer support I am hesitant to even do anything about it. Just chalk it up to experience I guess. My advice, Buy a Western Digital External and be done with it.
