Works great
By stan Klein on Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2012
Alot of people didn't like this product in their reviews. Don't listen to them. If you install it properly it works great. It is not that easy to install in some vehicles because you have to run a wire to the backup light, but if you know how to do that the rest is simple. It took me about an hour to put it into my Ford Explorer because I had to drill a few holes to run the wire to the backup lights. The picture quality on the monitor is excellent. I gave this product 5 stars because I believe it works as good if not better than some I've seen that are built into some new cars.

Installation can be a problem
By Gordon DeLeys on Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2011
After receiving the first camera system that didn't have all the parts and returning it for a second system, the second system contained all the parts and in fact had a different style monitor. Let me tell you this, installation is a real challenge given the very sketchy instructions they provide. The "instructions' are nothing more than a diagram of how the cables go together and at each terminus for the monitor and the camera is a wire where one connects to the hot 12V DC of your vehicle and the other end goes to ground. The camera 12V DC hot connection has to be hooked up to the vehicle's backup lights to activate the wireless connection between the camera's transmitter to the monitor's receiver. In my instance, I was looking all over to locate and establish a ground connection at the camera end of the electrical connection. I must have attached it to about a half dozen different ground screws or bolts only to find out that none of them worked. Eventually, I experimented and just thought I'd splice it into the ground wire on the two-wire wiring system for the backup lights and it worked. I could have avoided much work and frustration had only the instructions been in writing and clearer than just a diagram. One suggestion...before installing the unit permanently into your vehicle, running the wires and hiding them cosmetically, test the unit first just to make sure it works. I'd suggest taking both the end wires from the camera and the monitor and hooking it up to the vehicle's 12V battery's positive and negative terminals (in my case I hooked it up to a 12V battery portable jumper unit that I keep in my trunk for emergencies) just to make sure the unit works before permanent installation. If you don't test the unit first, you'll find that it's very helpful to have a second person to help you with the installation since you can't put your vehicle in reverse and test the connection at the back end and make sure your backup lights still function without your vehicle moving. Once installed, the unit works well. It took me about 2 hours to install and it should have only taken about 30 minutes. If you read the other reviews for this product, most of the negative reviews are for poor instructions. The other poor reviews are for monitors that don't work. It's probably not a case of them not working but not wiring the unit correctly due to poor instructions.
