Astak Pan/Tilt Night Vision IP Network Camera (Black)

I just got this camera yesterday. Since I already have two Moles and had no problems setting them up I have tried all day to get this one going but so far no luck. And since it is a holiday I can not get tech support . I will try another day or two before I return it. Update: When Amazon and the vendor Cascade Associates learned of my problem they both came to my aid. They both tried to help and I think they were really concerned. The vendor bent over backwards trying to help and offered to refund my money. The problem was really with Astak , the maker of the Mole camera. I finally was able talk to one of their tech guys who after making sure I was the legal owner, they transferred the camera to me from a previous owner since it was a camera sold as used but in new condition. Thanks Amazon , this is one reason I love doing business with you. And to Cascade Associates thanks again and I would do business with you again.

Do not buy if you need email alerts and have yahoo, gmail or other SSL service

I have had 4 of these at two locations for several years. They are great most of the time. Once in a while they go fuzzy and you need to move them around online until the view clears up. Not bad for the price. BUT as of last August, they are useless if you use most email services (gmail, yahoo, etc) to send you alarrms. In fact they all started rotating nonstop. I am told this was caused by the email servers adding security (SSL), so the units could not communicate with the server and somehow that caused them to rotate (not logical but after testing gound to be true. The manufactturer has not disclosed any plans for updating the cameras to work in current environment. CONCLUSION: great camera unless you need email alarms, which case you need to find a non SSL email server.
