These are okay and work for fairly well. Pretty comfortable and for the price the value to cost is really good. Great for running and walking or working out. Pretty good sound out of these corded ear buds.

Okay, but far from great

First off let me say, I am not a hardcore audiophile, just a guy who likes to listen to music. I have a wide variety of genres on my iPod, (including indie/alt rock, jazz, blues, country, pop, acoustic, hip hop, punk and even classical) and have listened to every type with these earbuds. Before trying these, I have been using the apple earbuds that came with my iPod in conjunction with clip on in-ear buds. These sound great but the problem is that the rubber cushions come off easily and now I've lost all but one, making the in-ear additions unusable. I've had these for just over a week now. The first thing I did when I received them was to let them play for 24 hours in order to "burn them in" the way JLabs suggested to some other reviewers. After this time I started listening and was quite disappointed. The bass response is still not great. I even tried using the different size cushions to see if that'd make a difference. Sometimes even the highs seemed a bit muffled. Then, I thought maybe it was just me, so I put my old apple earbuds back in, and they actually sounded slightly better. I was also disappointed to find that I had to turn the volume of my iPod up just as loud if not louder in order to hear some of the nuances of some songs. Upright bass that is used in many jazz recordings is particularly a problem. I do like the way these earbuds fit into the ear. The J2's do a pretty good job of blocking out outside ambient noise, but would still have to be turned up quite loud on an airplane. They are comfortable to wear, and stylish. However, their performance fell under my expectations, especially after reading so many positive reviews. In my final analysis, I would say, these are just okay earbuds to use for casual listening. I got mine on special for 25 [..] and wouldn't pay any more than that. If you are looking to enhance your experience while using your iPod, just get the clip on in-ear accessories, they are cheaper and do a better job than these.
