Awesome Sound & Features - Easy to Use
By CJ on Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2022
Model: PMSA126BU I have 2 large speakers from a 1980's Sony HST-231 stereo. The stereo back then was very loud, and I was hoping to find something to use with these speakers in same manner. 8 Ohms each, together 16 Ohms. 200 Watts each, together 400 Watts. I read other reviews where users had issues, yet it's important to match up correct amplifier with your device. I knew nothing about amplifiers, yet took just minutes of reading on Internet to learn. My speakers don't use 70V. Even though this model has it, you are not required to use it. 70V is for 4 or more speakers (and sound quality is lowest). My 2 speakers were hooked up in Series. I bought extra speaker wire 14 AWG, and quick connects, so it can all quickly be connected/disconnected. And, I used 30 feet in between amp -> speaker -> speaker -> back to amp, this way I can space everything apart. At the amplifier, I hooked up 1 wire to 16 Ohms (positive), and other to COM (negative) - and that's it! Most of the work involved me stripping speaker wires and adding quick connects. At the back of model, you simply connect exposed wire by screwing it in. I screwed in 5" of speaker wire, with a quick connect at the other end, so I can quickly take it all apart, and not have to unscrew/screw wires at amplifier. The sound is amazing! It truly sounds just like the original stereo that we used for speakers, primarily because all specs on the amplifier matched the specs for the speaker. Connected my phone via Bluetooth, and opened Tidal, which is a music app that has "Master" quality songs - same quality as in the studio. I tested some 1980's songs that were heavy on bass, and it sounds great. I also tested cranking volume up super high, and the speakers sounded exactly like with the original stereo. It can go very, very loud. What's really very nice is that you can hook up 2 microphones, for Karaoke. I tested this and it works great. Each microphone has it's own volume. So, you can control the volume of the music separately from volume for the microphones - that's really nice. The 1 feature I believe that would improve this model would be if Pyle upgraded Bluetooth 4 to 5.0. 4 - range is 10 meters indoor (50 meters line of sight) 5 - range is 40 meters indoor (200 meters line of sight) Overall - extremely happy with the purchase!

FOUND DISTORTION AT LOW VOLUME LEVEL
By SpAudioQuest on Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2013
Amplifier Output terminals are the typical 4 ohms, 8 ohms, 16 ohms & 70V (which allows for a broad range of speaker configuration) On Testing, I fed music into the AUX input and came up with the following results: Normal Music Power: 25 - 30 Watts (approx.) I don't know wether I struck a bad batch, but the unit I received had quite a high level of distortion at low volume levels. At first, I thought it was due to the fact that the unit had received a lot of shock - shipped to Australia (perhaps it was badly treated during transit). Without thinking, I went to WAGNER ELECTRONIC SERVICES (WES) - My local electronics shop which I know and trust, sells good quality products. There I purchased and replaced the main transistors in the unit. That didn't make any difference. After a little while, I began to think that the distortion was due to a poor design - resulting in some degree of circuit instability. Fortunately, I managed to make some dodgy improvements to the fault I've found. However, I'm not sure wether this is just a one-off fault (my bad luck) or that they're all like that from factory. In the past I have found these cheap production electronic goods to have poor standards. (Compared to developed countries) ... don't get me wrong - all I'm trying to say is that you get what you pay for! It all depends on the individual's needs and taste I suppose.
