Function button puts your favorites at your fingertips
Your favorite functions are only a press away thanks to the easily customizable Function button. Just press to access, then adjust parameters with the control ring. You can assign up to 7 functions from a list of 17 possibilities.

Instantly access perfect settings
Whenever you find a perfect combination of camera settings for a certain type of shooting situation, you can save it in memory by using the Memory Recall mode. Should a similar situation arise, you can immediately activate the saved combination via dial. This mode can memorize up to three groups of settings (including exposure modes, shutter speed, Drive mode, ISO, White Balance, Metering modes and more).

Fine-tune images via Photo Creativity interface
Now it's easy to achieve exactly the look you desire. Just rotate the rear control dial to intuitively fine-tune properties of your image in real-time on the screen. This Photo Creativity interface lets you adjust Background Defocus, Color, Brightness and Vividness as well as overlay these multiple effects.

Discover your own Creative Style
Bring out the character of your scene by selecting the Standard, Vivid, Portrait, Landscape, Sunset or B/W mode. You can also fine-tune contrast, sharpness and saturation (where applicable) to suit your personal preference.

Picture Effect transforms your photos and videos into unique works of art from within the camera. Fulfill your creative vision with 13 modes, including Toy Camera, Pop Color, Posterization, Retro Photo, Soft High-key, Partial Color and High- contrast Monochrome. Real-time preview is available for most effects.

Record Full HD movies in 60p or cinematic 24p
Take full advantage of the bright lens and sensitive sensor to create movies of breathtaking quality with extremely low noise, even in dark environments. Movies are recorded at Full HD resolution at 60p for supremely smooth playback or 24p for a more expressive cinematic look. You can also enjoy the unlimited manual creative freedom of P/A/S/M modes.

Cut, crop, and track any subject perfectly
Save an expertly trimmed, beautifully balanced composition in addition to your original image, whether you're shooting a single- or two-person portrait, snapping a close-up, or capturing a moving subject with tracking focus.

10 fps continuous shooting
You can always capture the ideal moment and facial expression, even when recording sporting events and other fast-moving action, by shooting continuously at approx. 10 frames per second (speed varies depending on shooting conditions.)

Steady shots even without steady hands
Optical SteadyShot image stabilization compensates for camera shake blur during handheld still image shooting. When shooting movies, Optical SteadyShot (Active Mode) enhances stabilization and compensates for rolling camera shake.

Focus on what you like
The MF Assist function enlarges the image approx. 8.6x or 17.1x to allow super-fine tuning of the focus. The Peaking function highlights the sharpest in-focus areas of your image –even when not using MF Assist–to clearly show what is focused.

Capture the faintest detail
Auto HDR expands the dynamic range of images from darkest shadows to brightest highlights. Dynamic Range Optimizer (DRO) similarly adds details to the highlights and shadows, and can be used when photographing moving subjects.

Multi-aspect still-image capture
Shooting flexibility even extends to aspect ratios. Depending on your scene and artistic vision, you can capture still images in your choice of 3:2, 4:3, 16:9 or 1:1 aspect ratios.

Never be off center again with Grid Lines
Grid lines on the LCD support more accurate horizontal and vertical alignment of the camera with walls, streets and other elements in your scene. Select from three: Rule of 3rds Grid Line, Square Grid Line, and Diagonal + Square Grid Line. For extra assistance, use the Dual-axis Digital Level Gauge to check for camera roll and pitch.

Up close and personal
Step Zoom lets you swiftly select any of 5 commonly used focal lengths (28, 35, 50, 70 or 100mm) by simply turning the control ring.
