ZOMM FAQ:

Q: Will the Wireless Leash work with my phone?
A: The ZOMM Wireless Leash will work with any mobile phone that supports Bluetooth technology.

Q: How long does the battery last?
A: With a full charge, your Wireless Leash’s battery can last up to five days, or two hours of continuous speakerphone talk time. The more you use the Wireless Leash’s features, the shorter the battery life will be.

If the battery level gets low, the Wireless Leash will notify you by sounding three short beeps every few minutes or by saying “Battery Low” every few minutes depending on your version of firmware. We recommend recharging your Wireless Leash immediately upon receiving the low battery alert.

When the Wireless Leash is charged, the Z-light will remain lit, but for best battery life, fully charge it for 4 hours – especially before you use it for the first time.

Please be aware that if your battery gets too low, some critical features such as the Panic Alarm and emergency dialing may not operate correctly, and may cause your device to shut off unexpectedly.

Q: How do I pair the Wireless Leash with my mobile phone?
A: Before you begin, make sure your Wireless Leash is charged, OFF (no lights on or flashing), and unplugged.
1.    Navigate to your phone’s Bluetooth menu and confirm that the Bluetooth feature is turned on.
2.    Press and hold the Z-button until you hear the second beep and the perimeter lights are flashing rapidly.
3.    On your phone, search for Bluetooth devices.
4.    Select the ZOMM from the found Bluetooth devices on your phone. If a PIN is required, use 0000.
Once connected, the Z-light will flash every few seconds.

Please note: these instructions are general and designed to work with any phone. If you wish more specific pairing instructions, visit our knowledgebase at support.zomm.com.

Q: How far away do I have to be from my phone for the alarm to go off?
A: The Wireless Leash will let you know when it becomes separated from your mobile phone by approximately 30 feet (depending on your mobile phone and surroundings). Most phones have a Bluetooth range of about 30 feet in an indoor setting (home, office, etc.). However, some phones have stronger Bluetooth radios and can experience a longer leash length, some up to 70 feet.

Q: Can I use my other Bluetooth hands-free device along with my Wireless Leash?
A: The ability to use your Wireless Leash and a Bluetooth car kit or headset at the same time depends on your mobile phone. Some phones such, as the iphone, can be connected to two Bluetooth hands-free devices at the same time. However, most other phones only allow one active hands-free connection at a time.
If your phone only accepts one Bluetooth connection at a time and you wish to use your car’s speakerphone system, please turn OFF your Wireless Leash before starting your car by holding down on the Z-button until all lights go off (approximately 3 seconds).

When you leave your car, turn the Wireless Leash back on by holding down on the Z-button for about 3 seconds until the lights come on and it will reconnect with your phone automatically.

Q: The volume of the Wireless Leash speakerphone is low during a call. How do I turn it up?
A: The volume of the Wireless Leash’s speakerphone can be adjusted anytime you are speaking through it by using the volume controls on your phone.

The volume of the Wireless Leash speakerphone is controlled separately from the volume of your phone, but uses your phone’s volume button.

Once you have set the volume of your Wireless Leash’s speakerphone it will remain at that volume until you change it again.

Q: How do I find my keys using the ZOMM Wireless Leash?
A: To find your keys (or any other item attached to your Wireless Leash) when your Wireless Leash is still connected to your mobile phone:
1.    On your mobile phone, navigate to the Bluetooth menu.
2.    Turn your phone’s Bluetooth feature OFF.

This will initiate the Wireless Leash alarm. You can listen for the alarm to locate your misplaced keys or any other items connected to your Wireless Leash.

Please note: this requires that the device be wirelessly connected to your mobile phone (within Bluetooth range or approximately 30 feet) before attempting.
