Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Akira. Mostly because this is what happens when you condense a huge manga into an hour and half movie.

Old movie from the 80's... Trading Places with Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd. The end of the movie with the false crop report and cornering the FCO market.

No Country for Old Men. Was it in the 70's, the 90's, present time? Why didn't he just take some of the money and then leave. Taking it all caused him to be hunted. So many questions. However, whenever it comes on, I am glued to the TV to watch it all.

I don't know if I like Akira or not. Every few years I watch it again, and think "Nope, still don't get it."

There isn't a movie I've seen that I don't understand. Because I'm, like, a smart person. ;)

One of the meanest things I ever did was when my friend and I were sent to the Blockbuster (remember them?) to pick up a DVD to watch. He picked up the DVD labeled "MULHOLLAND DR" and said "my wife said to get Mulholland Drive if that had it". To which, I replied, "That's "Mulholland Doctor". I said it in jest, but my friend just took a second look at the case, said "oh" and put the disc back on the shelf. I never corrected myself and I think we wound up getting something dopey like "Zoolander".

Inception's ending still blows my mind when I think about it.

Thanks for reminding me of that, pretty sure I'll spend the rest of the work day trying to figure it out.

Doesn't it take place on 34th Street? Maybe you were just a few blocks off.

I'm amused at all of the comments for 2001, but then again, I've read the book.

For me, it's the somewhat obscure 1975 film called "Black Moon". The first time I saw it, I saw it dubbed into French with Finnish subtitles (It came on RTL while I was studying abroad in Finland.) Years later, I saw it in the original English and my understanding of the film did not improve at all.

1) I'm 80% sure it was in the 80s
2) He took the whole briefcase because he's a moron who apparently can't shoot well either
3) This is my favorite movie to go to bed too. Pretty slow moving. Still a great movie but it's slow enough to help you snooze quick at the end of a long day.

"Final Fantasy".
Groundbreaking special effects for its time...
OK. Add "Slaughterhouse Five".
May as well add "Catch 22".

Ah, the hell with it.

Which "Final Fantasy"? There were two movies (and two different animes).

"Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within"
or
"Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children"

cream0wheat

There's 2 versions of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children". One is edited for time, which makes no sense. The other is the original full movie, and its like night and day.

I actually found inception to be boring. A few minutes into it I said "OK, he's got on his ring again, so he's dreaming, right?" to this day my idiotic pal thinks it's her top when he flat out says that the top was her totem.
