Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Must have lots of illuminating MULTI color lights on the unit!

Which component? I currently have an amp, preamp/tuner, turntable, phono preamp, shiny disc player, DAC, cassette deck, speakers.

Typically for most components in order: sound quality, ease of use, physical appearance, build quality.

Control it with my "smart" phone.

If you want, you pay...
But, if you need, you pay more!

For a car stereo, knobs and buttons, instead of a touchscreen. I need to change the station without taking my eyes off of the road.

CD player with controls for messing up the order of the songs (ok - I can't remember the word) and replay.

Phone/Media player connection is a must.

Also, it would be nice if it Goes To Eleven

Built-in 8-track player.
I must be able to play my Ultra-Audio HQ Master tape 8 tracks.

"I can plug my phone into it"

What, is this 2005? Bluetooth baby! Or even better, WiFi.

Depends, has to work with the amp I bought (from Woot), needs to have bluetooth, WiFi, or a line-in so I can play my iTunes off of any of our 3 computers (which were also purchased from Woot), and I prefer the kind that allow one to convert LPs to MP3s (ya... I got one of those here too, but my parents really liked it, & since they have a lot more LPs than I do, they took it with them... to another state).

Now, if there was a stereo that had AM/FM, CD, cassette, LP, 8-track, & reel-to-reel (with the ability to convert any of those to MP3s), be linked via bluetooth & WiFi to play my computers' iTunes, AND off of my iPhone, my wife's Samsung (Galaxy-something-or-other), & the kids' tablets, well then THAT would be COOL!

Hear, hear! This has been my biggest challenge in finding the perfect replacement head unit for my 2002 car that ain't broke, so I'm not going broke replacing the vehicle and would rather enhance it to keep me satisfied.

I wish someone would create a double-DIN unit that had both touchscreen AND buttons that are user friendly. If anyone knows of one, please tell me!

Clarity! I hate muffled sound, even with the treble all the way up. I want to hear every cymbal crash and every guitar pick. Bass is secondary to me.
