Cameras, Accessories, & You

Camera people of days-gone-by knew that buying a camera meant paying for film. Today, it's all digital. But don't let that stop you from buying a few extra SD cards and five or six different cameras. ARE YOU COMMITTED TO THIS HOBBY OR AREN'T YOU?

you can get a faster memory card on amazon for less money if you figure in woots shipping and you have prime.

I got the Samsung WB100 16.2MP Digital Camera with 26x Optical Zoom a few months ago and finally gave it a work out last week. It's a brilliant camera!

It's a bit heavy - but knowing that you can buy batteries anywhere and the quality of the pics is worth the weight. I used nimh rechargable batteries and they lasted all day with no problem.

If you notice the picture - there is no connector to attach the lenscap to the camera. You WILL lose the lenscap - so get it attached. I found a rubberband worked quite well.

The dual stabilization allowed me to take perfect crisp pictures, even at near full zoom, of a hockey game.

So if you grabbed this camera before it sold out - you are lucky! Enjoy!

Anyone have any experience with refurbished cameras through Woot? The DSC-HX20V is tempting to me, but since its refurbished and not factory reconditioned, I'm a bit more hesitant.

Not certain if it's a 'good' brand or not. But I bought this one recently as well and have been using the monopod portion of it. Quite happy with it so far.

The few I got (I think two of them) were like new, with all the accessories. Everything was packed in the factory condition. The only difference with "new" was that it did not come in a retail box. More of a recycled cardboard box.

But the cameras performed well. Just like a new one.

The Sunpak 30 LED light is cheaper at B&H Photo. $24.99 and free shipping there, too. That's a bit disappointing Woot...
