This is a spectacular machine at this price. A close friend brought the nearly identical computer (his had 4GB RAM) to me to fix because it was so slow. I had to re-install Windows (using the restore partition already on the hard drive). After removing all of the pre-installed bloatware, teaseware, crapware and tempware (including the pre-installed Norton Antivirus) BEFORE doing anything else made this thing lightning fast.
Word to the wise... remove everything in the add/remove programs that begin with HP. You don't need them.
