Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Drinking and coding. So that's why woot was down for the first hour of Buy Nothing Day.

It's a toss-up for me: Duchesse De Bourgogne, Kasteel Rouge, or an Islay Scotch.

Hefeweizens make great coding brews. If there is such a thing.

The absolutely best beer is that which I brew myself. The latest batch is "Dancing Dog Golden Ale"

I only drink porter when I'm moving some code to a new platform.

The best drink for script development is pearl tea, though some prefer plain old java.

Hefe's are quite good, but I would prefer a Belgian witbier. I love a good wheat beer, but the higher carbonation from the Belgian yeasts provide just a hint of extra pep to keep me focused. Plus the Belgian Wits tend to be just slightly lower in ABV, which helps during a 'session'. Maybe a Unibroue Blanche du Chambly or even a Hitochino Nest White

IPAs are the trendy beer now, for some reason. Everyone likes to namedrop Dogfish Head's 120 minute.

When the guy sitting on the bar stool next to me starts talking to the bartender about IPAs, I count down how long until the patron mentions DFH 120min. When it happens (which it always does), I put my head down on the bar and resits all temptations to shoot myself in the face. Groundhog's conversation. Over and over and over again.

I never had it, but the 90 minute is seriously good. It is not necessarily name dropping. And just because something becomes popular does not mean that you have to stop liking it.

Here's an IPA name drop for you - Flying Dog's Raging [[Female Dog]] 'Belgian-style IPA'.

That's good stuff. Dangerous to code by, as it sails past the peak very quickly.

That or Guinness, rightly missing from the list, as its just a little outside the bounds of beer. ( yes its a stout, in name, no I still don't think its on the list, cause there was no list item titled 'mothers milk' )

..seriously woot, I can't use the 'B word' ?!

If you want hoppy, try Lagunitas Maximus. If you want good code, stick to session ales.
